But once he’s got them, if we feel his coaching is up-to-speed and he can add something to this football club, then we will look to bring him in if we can. “Andy has been very enthusiastic. He has been in every day, he’s been going to away games, just to see how the coaches operate and how the whole process works.” Ferdinand, QPR’s Director of Football, has a clear vision about the requirements of any potential coach for the club. “First and foremost, they have to be good at what they do,” he said. “Plus, they need to understand the way we want to do things. We have set out a template for our coaches, which explains how they can progress our players. Not much room for sentiment but provided guys are up to the job it's nice to have that QPR connection.
I think it's a reasonable to give ex-players a chance to earn their badges with us. It's got to be inspiring to the kids and we get to cheer pick any talented ones from amongst them.
