Just remembered Ramsdale will be in goal for this as Raya is ineligible to play against his parent club.

It’s been a while since Ramsdale has played, so I really hope he’s not too rusty or makes any mistakes because that’ll destroy his confidence and possibly the team’s too.

 

This is positive news at least.

 

No Martinelli. Zinchenko back on the bench. Trossard starting.

Ramsdale obviously starting as Raya is ineligible.

 

Shame no Martinelli. Thought he was superb in our last match.

We’ve been the better side, and should have scored more, but Brentford have looked dangerous when they try to play the long ball over the top or switch play which is stretching us.

Rice has been excellent and Jorginho has been good, but I feel like we need another athletic, technically secure midfielder in a game like this to ensure we don’t get caught out.

Toney has been a handful, but we’ve dealt with him fairly well.

The referee has been very frustrating with the way he’s brandishing yellow cards like it’s nothing. They’ve also been winning a lot of cheap fouls and going to ground easily.

They have frustrated us quite a bit despite our dominance.

That error from Ramsdale was absolutely criminal. And is why he’s not number 1 anymore. That’s such a poor mistake to make in a game of this magnitude.

 

I was worried Ramsdales lack of game time might be an issue today.

Gotta treat this second half like a Cup final now.

 

Oh Ramsdale!! Why why why???

I really hope this does'nt come back to haunt us, important we re group and come out in the 2nd half on the front foot.

 

Ramsdale's been hesitating every time the ball has come to his feet. I want to say I'm surprised he's done that, but I'm not. He was like this last season too.

His long passing has also been very substandard.

Safe to say this is the last time he's ever going to play for us again.

 

Agreed, but ZERO excuses for such an error, no matter as first choice, 2nd or 3rd choice!

 

That’s ramsdale’s last game for us after that. Feel for him, but there’s always going to be that element of doubt with him

we’re missing Martinelli in this game. Saka has been okay, without having any real cutting edge and trossard doesn’t have the same ability to get in behind like Martinelli

our best moments have come when Rice, Gabriel and Kiwior have made penetrating runs from deep. I think we need to do more of that in the 2nd half because that’s the only way we’ve been opening Brentford up so far.

 

I'd quite like Gabriel Jesus on (for either Havertz or Trossard)

 

I still expect us to win this, but we really don't do ourselves any favours when we make idiotic mistakes like that.

 

I’d keep Havertz on, he’s working hard to keep things flowing. He should have scored though.

Id like to see Jesus come on as he will cause problems and occupy 2-3 Brentford players at a time. He’s hungry for a goal too

 

Brentford players are really milking these ‘injuries’ . Wasn’t a foul on Ajer at all. Referee needs to grow a pair of bollocks.

 

This referee is AWFUL. Get a hold of this game Ffs.

 

That should be a penalty for Trossard. VAR as usual doing nothing

 

We need to make some changes now. Don’t leave it until it’s too late, Mikel.

 

We’ve started to play into their hands by making it a scrap. Lots of loose touches and heavy passes.
