please log in to view this image Where's the Match Thread? ..Oxo? Normally this would be a huge game but this place has become like a graveyard. Goes to show Arsenal fans are just bored/disillusioned with the way things are. Anyway a loss today and we can kiss our title chances goodbye. On the plus side our 3-0 win at the Emirates was arguably our best performance of the Season. We need a win boys. Arsenal: Cech; Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Coquelin; Walcott, Ozil, Iwobi; Sanchez. Subs Gibbs, Gabriel, Giroud, Ospina, Welbeck, Reine-Adelaide, Maitland-Niles. Coquelin being our ONLY fit Centre-Midfielder. Chelsea: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill; Moses, Kanté, Matic, Alonso; Pedro, Costa, Hazard. Subs Begovic, Fabregas, Zouma, Willian, Batshuayi, Terry, Chalobah.
I really wouldn't be shocked if we win. This team is so frustrating that they can easily outperform the best team when they bother. But even if we win this, we'll be back to our stuttering wars soon afterwards.
Yeah the old cliche's ring true with this side. We do need more men, leaders, captains.. etc.. Particularly because our coach is such a nervous wreck. When the pressure is somewhat eased we tend to improve. However Coquelin is our only real midfielder in the side. Oxo needs to have a blinder if we are to win.
Terrible in the air. I said at the start of the Season Mustafi and Koscielny would get destroyed against the bigger premier league sides. This is why I still think we should be playing Holding alongside Kos.
This place is like a ghost town. Gabriel should have scored - either side of Courtoise and thats a goal.
1-0 down at half time. Same old story. Poor defence, toothless in attack, no ideas. Not all is lost. We need to make changes now. I'd take off Walcott, put Sanchez on the wing, and have either Giroud or Welbz upfront. Sanchez is isolated up there.
Outworked and Outfought. The only upside is we have had some very good chances. Should have scored at least 1.
Just a view...... Does anyone else think Bellerin was impeded by Alonso in the fact his arms/elbow was all over Bellerins head prior to making contact for the headed goal? No mention of it at all during the commentary, but for me IF this occurred on the keeper or in general field of play it more often than not is picked up as a free kick. Is there a case of taking the man before actually the ball?
Ive seen those leaps given as fouls on multiple occasions. ..But its a contact sport and I think players should be allowed to jump with their arms up. However, by the letter of the law it probably should have been a foul.
