I haven't seen Asamoah playing a lot recently. But if he's anything like he was, I'd jump at the chance. I think he'd be the perfect foil for Defoe because he's precisely not what Jermain is. Jermain scores the type of goal you kinda expect him to score. But Asamoah will wander - he's a swine to track sometimes - and he'll score some goals you don't expect. That will broaden our options no end. Yes please. Problem - Chinese wages.

This could be ugly. I cannot see this happening, this is like Lee Clarke becoming your manager (though honestly think what he did wasn't as bad).

I honestly don't give a s**t what he did five years ago. I'm looking at what he might do for us now.

He's been farting about for too long now. I'd be surprised if he would be up to scratch for playing in the premier league.

Do you not think that someone as blatantly mercenary as him might have a negative impact on the players we have? Added to which I read somewhere he's not even getting a game in China so how good is he these days.

All Premier players are mercenaries these days anyway, and I don't see how anybody can make them more so. I don't know how good he is now. All I would say is, if we take a look at him and he looks up to it, take him. There's a good player in him

He's one of the highest paid players in the world

He hasn't played proper competitive football since leaving us in 2011

Can't see Moyes or Ellis being interested in this in the slightest.

    He's a celebrity rather than a footballer

With all the young players we have coming through the last person for them to be looking up to is someone who doesn't give a solitary **** about the club they play for, we want them to be looking at players like Catts who is as loyal as the day is long.

Not for me. Hasn't played at a proper level for too long and his wages would likely be massive.

I never said that having Catts in the squad means that we will never have players that want to move on.

Defending Gyan by making out he's no worse than every other PL player who never left to play Camel Football <laugh>

Fair comment. I know you didn't mate. But what I'm getting at is all Premier players are looking at making mega-bucks these days. And I don't think Catts or Gyan will make the slightest difference. Their main influence nowadays is their agent. If they get a better offer, they'll go anyway.
