If you have not seen it, here is a survey by the club about atmosphere etc to help shape future policy at Ashton Gate: http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/atmosphere-survery-for-supporters-2222017.aspx
Atmosphere is up to us supporters to generate. MUCH more important is to sort out the future bloody car parking. Been thrown out of the W R Car Park for obvious reasons. We live 15 miles away from AG and now must leave 3 sodding hours before kick off to park anywhere near the ground.
Also to do with the design of the revamped stadium Surely they've considered acoustics and what will generate more noise ? From the look of the new East End I'm not convinced....a roof that appears to slope upwards must be bad for retaining noise ?
The South stand design will not retain sound, Evidently this is beneficial according to either BS - BCFC at the recent consultation in the DEH. I fully expect the atmosphere of the South stand to be very poor.
This survey isn't by the club but the ST. City have a habit of ignoiring these things as the survey forAshton Vale more than suggested any home end should have a roof pointing the opposite way. The South stand as it is being called just looks like the type of thing the surveys said should be avoided.
The survey links from the clubs website - so in theory the club are involved even if it is the ST If you have opinions get on there and tell them - what harm could it do??
As regards car parking I put forward two options why cant the Council facilitate an agreement with the Park and Ride? if and when the new training facility is built on the "Town Green site" why not build adequate parking there ?
I reckon a good parking facility could be built at Ashton Vale, the fit could walk to the ground and a shuttle service for the rest of us..
The survey is independent of the club. Others surveys went out via the clubs database after the club checked questions this does not. The danger is Bristol Sport who are now running the show pick next to nothing v do anything and decide they have ticked their box.
While we must be extremely grateful to SL for the whole concept of Bristol Sport they seem extremely lax in the way they deal with the public. In my dealings with them they tend to defend every complaint with the excuse that they are pre-occupied with building the new stadium and as such the everyday things which go wrong are "excusable". What we cant knock of course is the performance on the pitch of both BCFC and Bristol Rugby which will always be seen as of paramount importance.
Done have asked the club to ban e-smoking in the ground or create smokers areas that do not affect non smokers. Nothing on the survey regards this big concern.
