I'm not a betting man, but... I felt there was a real buzz before we played the Cherries - I put a fiver on City to win @ 11/5; I've got a twenty on us staying up @ 11/4 (the last time I looked we were now at 10/11); We were at 50/1 to finish in the top 10, so I put £10 on that, but SkyBet had us @ 100/1 yesterday. (I still don't know what I'm doing re bets )
My quid each way on city to win the premier isn't looking good, never mind at 1250 to1 3rd place will do
Used to bet on City but never again. I'm the kiss of death. Last time I thought about it was when we beat Charlton 6-0 and Abel scored a hatrick. I predicted the correct score and Abels hatrick. Could have had 1000/1 in the KCOM bookies. Bottled it.
In 1974 I got a chart out of golf monthly to predict the top 10 in the open, I wrote down Gary Player to win, Peter Oosterhuis 2nd and Jack Nicklaus 3rd. That's exactly how it finished, never thought to look if I had put money on that outcome what I would have won.
I've got a strict policy on it, no betting on us in a positive way, it's doubly annoying if we don't win. 2008 Playoff Final is the last time I had a bet on one of our games. Had a bet on Bristol City to go up on the day because that meant there were 2 outcomes for me: 1) We got promoted and I didn't care that the bet lost and the weekend had cost more 2) They got promoted but the bet won so at least the weekend was paid for
