I honestly can't see him making that much difference mate, it took him ages to get up to speed last time so i'm not expecting him to perform miracles immediately. Obviously I hope to **** that i'm wrong, I usually am like.
This, sadly, is the most likely reality rather than big Vic bags a brace on his return... You'd think we were located on the Nile.
How near to a return is he anyone? Without meaning to be dramatic he's our one hope of winning any games and staying up because we sure as **** don't look in danger of winning anything without him in the side.
He's literally our only hope as it's the only tactical nous (and I say nous very lightly) that Moyes have shown since he arrived. 'Lump it to the big man and get him to hold it up'.
It worked at Bournemouth, but in reverse while they were tracking Defoe. Two WBA hit men took him out as he was giving them a hard time as well. He may not last the full game but will give any defence something to think about.
It's very basic stuff but it worked remarkably well. He was one of the only players in our side who actually knew what he was doing and it made a massive difference to performances and results. No PVA now of course but I don't see any reason that he can't link up with Oviedo just as well or better.
Aye, that's why I said he's pretty much our only hope. Comes to something when we're pinning all our hopes of Victor Anichebe.
It sounds ridiculous but he really is that good isn't he. I was ****ing gutted when he got injured just as it was all coming together.
I dunno mate. He was unplayable at times don't get me wrong and he pretty much single handedly won us the games against Bournmouth away and Hull at home but I'm still not that sure how good he really is. If we surround him with the right players again it's a tiny tiny chance IMO that we'll do it.
I rate him hugely, he was our most influential player by some distance in my opinion. Several times he had almost flawless games where everything he did resulted in something positive and he never gave away possession despite seeing a lot of the ball. I thought he was ****e before we signed him mind.

The Nigeria international has been sidelined for the last two months, with his last appearance coming in the 2-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion on January 21. Sunderland have slipped to the bottom of the Premier League standings in the 28-year-old's absence and they are now seven points adrift of safety following a run of one win in their last 11 top-flight games. However, Anichebe, who played a major role in Sunderland's run of four wins in seven matches before Christmas, is now in line for a return to the first-team fold, with the forward having an outside chance of featuring against Watford at Vicarage Road this weekend. Sunderland face a potentially pivotal run of fixtures in April as, following the match with the Hornets, they face games against Leicester, Manchester United, West Ham, Middlesbrough and Bournemouth before the month is out.
Aye spot on - sadly the "Tony Pulis" way is to injure the opposition player if you can - Djilobodji got a 3 match ban for a little tap on the face - Yakob got not even a yellow card for putting a player out for 10 weeks. Work that out! (and I'm not arguing Djilobodji's red by the way!)
