And that hbic, is exactly why I both am / am proud to be a Spurs supporter. Everything about the tradition and lineage is right there.
Just for anyone wondering where that picture came from, the club have featured it: It was drawn by a Spurs fan who also did one that had Son in it, instead:
Superb fight. Highlighted the problems with Joshua but he came through it when it was looking like Wlad was in control. Phenomenal performance but this was still a Klitschko at the very end of his career, even if he did seem in better knick than you'd expect and used all his experience. Another big step forward for him. Lets have Wilder next!
Joshua's youth helped him to win in the end. He looked much fitter in the later rounds. But it looked as though it might cost him early on. Klitschko controlled the fight until he tired. Joshua will have learned a lot about what's required to beat a top class fighter beyond strength and power.
How did Joshua end up looking more knackered after he knocked Klitschko down then the Ukrainian did? I thought he had him and was going to finish him off, but then he looked like he was going to pass out. Might be time for him to adjust his training a bit and increase his stamina, possibly at the cost of some muscle. Wilder's the obvious one, but they might both take a less risky fight first. Bellew is clearly trying to get in on the action. Probably not going to beat either of them though, in my opinion.
http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/39766542 How the officials deal with racism in Serie A? Book the player complaining of abuse for dissent!!! And we think we still have a problem? Italy has shied away for years from confronting this 'disease' that is almost endemic in their culture and are on a par with the worst elements in the Eastern European bloc countries whose fans almost ritualize this behavior.
Five years ago today, Fiorentina forward Adem Ljajic responded to being substituted by sarcastically clapping manager Delio Rossi. Here is Rossi's response...
It's ok, as the Italian authorities have stepped in with a solution to the problem. They've banned Sulley Muntari for one game and aren't going to punish Cagliari at all. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39786264 Unbelievable.
Just saw that... incredible! Even worse when it becomes clear that Italian Football Federation rules precludes taking action if less than 10% of the crowd are involved in the abuse!! You couldn't really make this up!!
Anyone heard about Aeron Lennon held under the mental health act? Just heard it mentioned on the radio but missed the beginning of item. Do hope he will be ok.
Unfortunately, it seems to be the case. There would appear to have been concerns regarding his safety and welfare and he has been 'Sectioned'. I have a brother who suffers from a psychotic illness and has had to be protected from himself. It can be a very hard thing to have to cope with for all concerned. I hope that his problems are temporary and he gets well soon. Thinking of him tonight. Stay strong, Aaron!
Boxing's a strange sport. The very greatest boxers begin to learn at an age and practice with an obsession equal to concert violinists. Yet if a man is powerful and athletic enough, he can reach the pinnacle of the sport without having mastered more than its rudiments. George Foreman won a gold medal a year after his first bout. Joshua and Wilder are both very green, but will make 10 million for their next fight. What usually happens to incredibly athletic but basically inexperienced boxers is that they run into someone who both knows how to box much more skillfully and is able to avoid getting hit with bombs. Hopefully both have the good sense and character Foreman showed in overcoming adversity in life as well as boxing.
