With 14 game left until the end of the season the 3rd placed Chairboys are up against ex player of the late 80s Graham Wesley's Stevenage at Adams Park looking to complete the double over the Hertfordshire side and will have to do so without Aaron Pierre who picked up his 10th yellow card of the season during the win against Carlisle and will now serve a 2 match ban so it is likely Danny Rowe will come into the side for his first appearance for the Chairboys this year but as far a I am aware Gaz has no injury problems and hopefully no illnesses unlike myself as I'm am struggling badly to fight off man flu so will not be at the game in person only in spirit hoping we can reverse our recent home form and produce a winning performance for the AP faithful
Not having seen any matches I haven't a clue why our home form is so poor but I suspect that, away from home: we have the faithfuls who will give the team their full support come what may the team and manager are under no pressure to entertain the crowd, other than to come away with at least a point Conversely, at home: the team and manager are under pressure to play entertaining football in order to attract bigger crowds the majority of supporters are expecting entertainment, goals and 3 points and are less vocal than the away fans teams probably come here with the intention of grabbing a point, making it more difficult for our (not too hot) strikers to please the crowd with goals
Yet to beat Stevenage at home, could be a real banana skin for us. Being Westley's team i doubt it will be pretty to watch.
doubt itll be pretty to watch - westley sides never are! but gaz knows how to make a side rise to their level (in a good way) so im confident we can get something here The squad has also just been improved in central midfield and attack with the additions of Sam Saunders (Brentford) and Nico Yennaris (also Brentford!) so we seem to be opening up a Brentford B team at adams park! However saunders certainly is an excellent signing at this level, and given the poor form of bean I expect to see Yennaris and Bloomfield in the centre tomorrow
Interesting starting line up I think it must be the most changes Gaz has made all season Wycombe Wanderers 01 Ingram 02 Jombati 18 Rowe 26 Mawson 03 Jacobson 07 Saunders 10 Bloomfield 04 Yennaris 11 Wood 09 Hayes 23 Onyedinma Substitutes 12 Craig 13 Richardson 15 Murphy 16 Fletcher 19 McClure 25 Holloway 31 Ephraim
surprised to see McClure dropped, he missed chances last week but his general play was very good. Still, if Saunders is as good as hes been against us in the past then its understandable!
According to the Stevenage commentators, that goal should have stood as the goalie, not fouled, simply dropped the ball and it was tapped in.
this is showing how important pierre is to the defence! disappointed that hayes had his goal disallowed too, but wanderers need to wake up
