Apparently he's at St Mary's watching the Southampton game.

    A big shiny one mate.
He really is clueless and gets rinsed on Twitter.

It's turning into a soap opera now. I'd give him and QPR 48 hours with a final bid then walk away.

That was based on a sighting of a car with AUS as part of a registration plate.
Don't think anyone actually saw him in person.
The same Twitter lads will be reporting he is at the cricket at Edgebaston today too. <badger>

Imagine if he actually was at the cricket today.

"Oh we have cricket in the North-East Charlie"
    "Pick us Charlie, pick us"

You seem pretty bitter about this whole Austin saga. It's probably just kids messaging him on twitter.

Beside, everyone knows he'll love our bridges <whistle>

I'm really not. I'd like him to go to you but don't honestly think he will. Would make sense if Newcastle stopped trying to haggle over a million quid given the value there would be in having Austin there for some of pre-season.

It's not kids though. It's adults and it's creepy.

Although it is probably mainly kids (in mental age at least), no doubt there will be some adults acting like dicks on Twitter too. That happens everywhere though. Every club has its knobs. Without getting into the rights and wrongs of the original situation, I'm hardly going to base my opinion of QPR fans on the Twitter messages sent to John Terry over the Ferdinand situation, and I don't think any sensible football fan would base their opinion of Newcastle fans (or the club) on any replies sent to Charlie Austin on Twitter.

'Final bid' I don't think you have formally made any bid yet!

Austin will be a deadline day signing for someone, I reckon. Chelsea, I'd bet.

That wouldn't surprise me. He was a Chelsea fan and it could give them the double as they did the same to us last season with Remy. Wa****s

Darren Gough made a good point on TalkShite the other week. He suspects that Austin will sit on his hands until the last few days of the window and see if one of the 'big boys' comes in with a late bid for him to fill up their squad. Coming off the bench for Man U or Chelsea 30 odd times a season could be preferable to clogging on with us mid to lower table dwellers. I would be surprised if he moves anywhere any time soon.

That Colin fella on Twitter seems adamant this morning that the deal is done subject to a medical! Hope he's right, and you never can tell with that guy, its like he flips a coin with his predictions!

Mate. even flipping a coin you'd be right some of the time. With NUFC, I think there's just been a backfill of gaps - Cabaye has belatedly been replaced with Wij, Remy has finally been replaced with Mitrovic and I think there's realisation that we never had a full compliment of "purples" at the back to allow for Mbemba to come in. Anything else is now dependent on sales - I think Sissoko, Cisse and Colo are available (as well as the likes of Willo, Gouff, Obertan); some will be sold without replacement, the first three would - you would hope - see a replacement come in. Just an opinion mind.
