Rumors going around after his twitter saying "southbound"

I would be happy with it :)

Is he still young enough to run up and down the pitch

If true, would be excellent. Has he been at Port Vale? Hopefully he's not crocked.

He is a bit lightweight, I personally think we need someone to run around like a nutter putting in tackles at the moment and winning the ball back in midfield. Lines for me is ok from a creativity point of view, but not for ball winning. On Saturday our midfielders had a problem getting the ball back in the middle of the park so we need Pipe or something....would you have him back? :)

When we did have the ball we did not appear to have anyone who was capable of creating a decent opening. several time Harrison was pointing to where he wanted the ball played and the pass was either over hit or not played in the direction he wanted it played. Andy Monkhouse was of the main culprits needing to touch the ball several times before trying to make the pass which inevitably went somewhere completely different. I know he was not the only player to not play well on Saturday but I was surprised to see him on the pitch at the end. I was also very impressed with Ollie Clarkes energy when he came on and I believe that with a creative player alongside that would go a long way to helping us create more chances for the front men.

Fantastic news. He's the sort of player that thinks a few moves ahead. No, he's not necessarily ball winner, but he'll get loads of assists, make things tick and score from free kicks and open play. He's definitely a match winner. Welcome back!

If chris Lines can pass the ball accurately along the floor I am sure that with Harrison, Taylor, Blissett and Easter when fit that the goals will come and the necessary points gained or play off matches won then we will be in league 2 next year

He should be absolute quality for this level of football and will obviously help us from an attacking point of view so happy days. Still need someone alongside him to do all the donkey work IMO

Hope he doesn't get the sort of stick he used to - totally undeserved, because he was always one of our best players. Marcus Browning used to get similar stick. Some so called fans are never happy. He's absolute quality, a true Gashead and an absolute trouper for coming back here in our hour of need. We could not have hoped for a better signing.

Chris-Gashead we already have the player to do the donkey work in Ollie Clarke or if not selected in the back four Tom Lockyer, And as for players getting stick re Gastronomic comments I have said before if we had Ronaldo or Bale and they misplaced a pass they would get slagged off for it you just cannot please some people.

It's a fantastic signing and one that's come out of the blue!

Lines is a decent League 1 playmaker, at this level he should be excellent. We've needed a good midfield playmaker with set piece skills and now we've got one. As old timer said, our forwards should benefit from his passing ability - especially Easter and Ellis.

One question: who should make way? Mansell? Monkhouse? Lockyer? We need someone like Ollie Clarke in with him to put the tackles in.

Well done to the club for bringing Linesy back! <ok>

The board don't get a lot of credit on the forum generally but they are backing DC with him able to make signings like Easter and Lines to get us back into the league 2. Well done NH for the support of DC and DC for finding and bringing in players of this quality

NH has supported pretty much every manager we have had - unfortunately most of them didn't have a clue what they were doing with the cash

Good selection headache... maybe Mansell will make way. He's one booking from a suspension, so it may be enforced anyway.
