Fine thanks. I retired ages ago. They say the first few months are like a holiday, then it sinks in that something is missing. Very important to have some other activities planned. Good luck this season.
Good luck to WWFC as well - let us hope both our clubs can get automatic promotion come the season end.
Where I worked we had retirement preparation courses. Great idea if run well by reputable instructors. When they asked me what I was looking for in retirement I said I was going into a more stable environment. Oh FFS; it doesn't get much worse than that - does it?
But I was only retired for 3 months and then called back on a temporary contract that lasted 3 years. So I actually had 2 retirements before moving out here
I got a few more years before I retire but after yesterday at work it can't come soon enough bloody traffic is getting worse.3 hours it took me yesterday to get from Heathrow to Bournemouth. A fourteen hour day in this heat is getting too much for an old git like me.
Another Victor Meldrew moment coming up. Why do women not understand air con in a car.they spend ten minutes getting in my car then open the bloody window
Why do they take 10 minutes to get into the car Rocky? Hasn't it got any doors. Or do you just give lifts to large ladies? Have to say I've never regretted retiring once and I managed it at age 60. That's because I only ever had 2 jobs in my life and both of them had a guaranteed pension attached. The last job allowed me to retire early if I chose so I did. I had no real outgoings money wise so I could do it without the state pension at the time. I just rattled along for the 5 years until that kicked in and then I was getting more than when I worked for a living. My advice to anyone is if you can, even if you have to pull in the belt a little for a period, then go for it. You can't please yourself what you do if you're dead. Apart from that I grew to hate my job and the "modern" methods of doing it. Targets are a wonderful thing and nothing else mattered to them. Even when I met them I was supposedly doing it wrong.
I always try to put a characteristic with a user name. Rocky is obviously the bouncer on your board cause he's clearly hard. He's accompanied by Ron as in Ron and Ron (Hale and Pace of old) I'm called Sensiblegreeny because it's obvious that I'm the only one who is truely sensible on the Argyle board/ Are you Blue_Slasher cause you're a Smurf? Just asking like........
Greeny you are spot on got my nickname from being a bouncer in my youth.....as for slasher he just chases old men in the middle of the night in his underpants waving his kitchen knife
Slasher you still living in the pikey caravan in that field in Banbury or have you finished building the house
Good signing, looked a decent player when he was a trialist against brentford Rather pleased to see a post about a signing on this thread - just starting work properly so never felt younger and more out of place than reading this thread
