Great prize I will guess 77 Looking forward to the semi's and a trip to Wembley whatever the outcome!
That's the first semi done and dusted, Wigan 12 - 16 Hull. 28 points is the total going into the second match on Saturday afternoon. The lower scoring predictions are looking like favourites to win the competition.
Going to be a try-feast today......have a friend who is a hardcore Warrington fan, who's promised me the points I need to nab the tickets!! (Although first blood has gone to Wakefield - 6 points down, only need another 90 points to be in with a chance )
The second semi has been played and it finished Warrington 56 - 12 Wakefield. That makes 68 points and along with last nights 28 that brings the final total up to 96. Congratulations to @sheffordqpr who's prediction was spot on and @Rangers Til I Die who was next closest with 98. Commiserations to Wherever who was in for a pair of tickets until the death when Warrington kicked 4 points otherwise he would've been bang on the money. If Sheff and RTID PM IwasanotherwatfordR he will arrange getting the tickets to you. Have a great time.
And one of Warrington's try's shouldn't have been given, but I'm not bitter, have a good day out guys, eee ba gum
Well done to the winner, I was at Leigh this afternoon supporting Warrington, hoping they wouldn't score to many more points after half-time, happy though as I will be at Wembley to support them.
Crikey! Only just seen now that I've won!! Thank you so much. Looking forward to a fantastic day out.
Can shefford & RTID let me know when you've contacted IwasanotherwatfordR so I can unpin this thread? Cheers.
Cheers RTID, I hope you and sheff have a great day. The seats are brilliant as is the whole Club Wembley experience. It should be a good final and a good day all round.
Well, what a day. OK, I have to admit that what I know about Rugby League is represented by the fact that they play with the wrong shaped ball and thy're allowed to run with it. In fact, today was my first ever RL game that I've ever watched. So, with an apology to those die-hard RL fans on here who'd have loved to be at the game, a brief report about the day. Club Wembley was fun. Great facilities, air conditioned and good quality food and drink. I did not realise that you could take beer to your seat in a rugby game otherwise I would not have left a third of my pint in the bar! At half time there was a live band performing and more good quality nosh and drink. Enough toilets for everyone! Padded seats and leg room. Wowzer! Over 76 000 fans and two police cars {that I saw}. What is wrong with football fans?!! As to the game, to a novice like me, it was fast furious and brutal. Would I be correct that in Union, a player may not tackle around another player's neck? Seemed like no hold barred today. Just get them down any which way and hang the consequences! The first half belonged to Warrington and was justly represented by the score-line. They would, however, come to rue a missed conversion. In the second half, Hull FC were tenacious and patient and with a great intercept started a movement that resulted in their first try which they converted. Their confidence grew and despite a 'No Try' produced a marvellous movement that led to a second try that, once again, was converted. With about 90s to go, Warrington got that 'oh so nearly' moment but it was not to be and Hull FC won the day deservedly so on the second half performance. A fantastic afternoon out. Huge thanks to IwasanotherwatfordR for the tickets and perhaps there is a budding new Rugby League fan thanks to his generosity. Final twist was sitting on the 83 bus with a load of Warrington fans who were discussing their footie team - Wigan!! I kept very quiet indeed.
