Darrell Clarke will try to make two new additions to his squad before the deadline for loan transfers passes later this week. Clarke is chasing a central defender and a winger. The central defender is to provide cover and competition for Parkes and McChrystal following Trotmans operation who is basically being out for the rest of the season. The winger is to maintain the strength of the squad when Dawsons loan finishes on 18th April. Dawson would miss the last game of the season and any play off games if we finish in the play offs. We cannot extend Dawsons loan so DC wants a winger at the club ready for the last game of the season and potentionally the play offs too. If we need to go through the dreaded play offs, DC is keen to make sure that he has the strongest squad possible. Any new signings need to be registered by 5pm this Thursday.
I do know that he is really loving it at the gas. But would he be prepared to drop so low on a permanent move?? I doubt it to be honest.
I think if we go up then he may be tempted for another loan for sure. But a permanent deal, I cant see it
DC has talked Easter and Lines into coming so why cant he use his silver tongue on Dawson. We are going to need players of his quality in league 2
Easter wanted to be close to his home. We suit his needs and he knows exactly whay DC wants from him. Lines is only on loan and stated he wouldnt join a team out of the football league unless it was Rovers. He is a gashead and would have joined us no matter who the manager is. Both are advancing in years. Dawson however is young and have bags of potential. I think he be more than happy to learn is trade in the lower leagues but I doubt he would want to drop lower than league 1 on a perm deal.
meaning he would be playing good and would catch another clubs eye in the process in a higher division. Also Leicester may want to keep him if he is doing so well or command a good fee!!
We have just signed some geezer named baggie. No idea who he is but hopefully he brings something a little different
Bad news about the defender. If we don't get one in we're bound to need one soon...you know how it is...
http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/rovers-complete-baggie-signing-2359892.aspx Bristol Rovers have today completed the signing of Abdulai Hindolo Baggie, whose last league club was Tranmere Rovers, until the end of the season. The 22 year old midfielder began his career with Reading but made his league debut for Rotherham United when on loan with them in March 2010. Loan spells at Port Vale and Crawley Town followed before a permanent move to Yeovil Town materialised in August 2011. However he was released by the Glovers in December of that year without making an appearance and joined Hayes & Yeading United in early January 2012. Almost immediately he left to sign for Salisbury City, then managed by Darrell Clarke, and scored once in five games for them before the end of the 2011/12 campaign. In the summer of 2012 he was on the move again, to Prenton Park, home of Tranmere Rovers and from then until his release by them earlier this season he scored four goals in 47 league games. Abdulai has represented England at U-16 and U-17 level and has won four full international caps for Sierra Leone. Darell said of his new signing; “I know Abdulai from his time with Salisbury and he will provide both cover and competition for a place in the squad. It’s very difficult, with only six games of the season remaining, to bring in a player who has the ability to step straight into the side if selected. We will be without five players this weekend and it’s imperative that we have cover in the event of any more players missing through injury in the remaining weeks of the season and Abdulai fits that bill.” Chairman Nick Higgs concurred, saying; “Darrell has worked hard to bring in players to strengthen the squad for the last six games of the campaign and Abdulai is someone who is capable of doing that. I would like to welcome him to the club and wish him every success during his time with us.” The players missing from the squad this Saturday are Neal Trotman and Staurt Sinclair through injury, Ellis Harrison and Jake Gosling, who are on international duty, and Lee Mansell, who is suspended.
