Lot to spend on a prospect...? Don't see the sense or logic. Hardly likely to be an exponential profit.

If Ashley's eyeing up doing a Southampton, he'd be better off spending £4 million on the youth system.

It's like supporting a used car dealership :/

The little beauties spend very little time on the forecourt, and the **** ones stick around forever.

Just sold MYM for same amount - one in, one out!

For what it is worth I think Alli will go on to be a very good Premiership footballer and if we do go for De Boer and his backroom staff in the summer then he will be a great aquisition alongside Abeid!

A cynic could say Fat Mike is building for the championship.....
We have DArlo and Lascelles coming back with experience in that division too.
Jonas will join HBA out the exit door soon so there's £120k saved per week on wages.

I think this would be a great signing and encouraging sign to be honest. Ok Lascelles and Darlow are not pulling up any trees, but we do have a few youngsters of our own like Abeid, Perez, Aarons, Armstrong, Satka. I can only see this as good news. It has the potential to aid the team and they go for big money as teams fight to match the homegrown criteria. I'd love us to be interested in the likes of Mings, Ali, Hughes etc.

Look at Southampton who invested in the likes of Clyne, Bertrand, Cork, Long. Deepens the squad and in some cases give you valuable assets - Clyne is being linked with big money moves now.

Remember the days of Bellamy, Dyer, Jenas, Milner. Ok we had a few duffers in Bramble, Lua Lua etc. Some old bloke, Bobby I think his name was, thought it was a great idea. There was a time we were all over the 4m-6m bracket in this country.

The kid took the piss out of us, earlier in the season when we got trounced 4-0.

Our midfield was something like Kagawa, Anderson, Powell and Janko so not our first choice 4 but still, he ran the show, we didn't get near him.

On another note, I fancy Algeria to win tonight and Ghana should get past South Africa, so Cisse could be on his way home tomorrow. <ok>

I think this is a good signing if it goes through. The future of english football has to be in the kids of today and given the chance some of them should be good players. This kid is better than the league he is playing in. He has so much potential it is unreal but has he got the attitude to really make it.

I don't know about Mere or Mings, but the Spanish press are reporting Concha to NUFC as pretty much a done deal.

Would be good to get some more decent prospects to add to those we already have.

<laugh> I didn't even spot it! My mind was probably trying to shield itself from the horrendous quality of the joke.

Still, ignoring poor jokes is like being cruel to be kind - you have to be discouraged for your own good!

Alli? According to everything I have read he has the physique required - big, strong and fast. It's also been said that he has decent technique, reads the game well, is a fairly good passer and has a good goal scoring record... He should hopefully be better suited than Bigi, who whilst technically decent and a good passer, was lacking in physical presence and didn't seem to read the game too well..
