    Funny comment elsewhere about this:

Lee - "So, bit of a mess here, Steve, would you mind coming in and keeping us in the division?"

Steve - "Yeah, sounds good. I'm probably gonna be sacked soon enough, and it'll only cost you about £500k to take me on right now."

Lee - "....sorry, could you repeat that?"

    Steve - "It'll only cost about £500k?"

Lee - "No, the bit before?"

Steve - "That I'm getting sacked? Well, it's only probably, not definite and not for a few weeks."

Lee - "I see......so, in theory, you're FREE in the Summer?"

Steve - "In theory, yes, but don't you need help right now? Hello? Lee? Anyone there?"

If he wouldn't come when he was needed the most I don't think the fans would want him now. He'd be getting it in the neck from day 1

If he comes he'll be the 3rd former England manager to be in the hot seat at SJP. The other 2 did all right !!

We should get him in. I know it went a bit pear shaped for derby but I still think as a realistic appointment he is a decent shout. Very experienced. By all accounts he is good fun to have around also. Our team need to start enjoying playing football again

If he didn't have the bottle to come for the last three games then he is not wanted now.
Same with Carver, if they would have replaced him should McClaren have said yes, then he is not good enough either.
Also has the man no pride?, if my boss tried but failed to replace me, then wanted to keep me on, only because he had no other choices, well.............. Being a lady l won't say what l would do to him, but I know for sure his job would need to be surgically removed if you get my drift.
As always there will be no plan regarding our new head coach and no ambition shown towards their recruitment.
I sincerely hope l am proved wrong.

If we are to get him, then we really need to do it NOW. Not fanny about for a few months trying to get him over the infamous 'line' that seems to prevent oh so many people coming to the club. I have no strong opinion on the guy, to be fair. I think he could potentially do a reasonable job, but im certainly not wetting myself with excitement about his potential arrival. However lets just hope that the 'footballing board' pick somebody from the 80 odd strong list of loons that apparently want the job ASAP.

George Culkin says McLaren burned his bridges rejecting the job initially.

McClaren, but I'm sure we can do better, even if it was Laudrup.

Embarrassingly, Schteve is 1/3 Fav (best odds) with the next couple at 12/1. It will be embarrassing if we turn to him, and essentially Charnley forgives and forgets.

Fck, what am I saying? Charnley should have gone yesterday, yet all that seems to have happened is we won a match, the owner/MD presumably got hammered and normal silence, sorry, service is resumed. Not even a comment from the club today?

I think they will offer him. Personally I would be fine with that. I know there will be plenty who will as usual decide that he's not the man for the job. Problem is unless we get Klopp or Ancelotti they whoever we get probably won't get a fair crack of the whip.
