I dont agree with Guardiolas Gk tactics but he does have a point about Hart and kicking. He looks hesitant and nervy and a poor kicker.
There was a Ban the Band movement at Wednesday. A Wednesday fan I worked with had stood and sat on their Kop End for over 40 years and he and a fair few others moved because of them.
Anybody else think Lallana's a bit irritating? He runs around a lot, makes himself available but to me he always slows the game down.
Lallana is typical British type of player...Nice touch, but little impact. Lets be fair. We'll come up against a bit of quality in the competition proper and get found out, early doors. What I want to know is, how much do ITV pay Hoddle?
The band stopped getting free tickets and disappeared for a while, sadly, they seem to have returned. I quite like Lallana, we've got far worse players.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/row-zed/is-wearing-eyeliner-football-fans-10104808 the sign that you're a premier league footballer - first it was the stupid hairstyle, then it was random tats, then it was the sleeve and now its eyeliner
It certainly wasn't the best spectacle, but this game was very similar to the Belgium v Greece game the night before. Greece just sat everyone behind the ball and frustrated the **** out of Belgium. When teams come just to defend it usually ends up a poor game to watch. P.S. I like Lallana also, was arguably England's best player.
Little doubt that Lallana was possibly England's best player on the day with Oxlade-Chamberlain, but he seldom does anything which makes you say 'wow' . Sadly that's being the case with England since Gazza was at his peak.. At the moment we don't have any truly world-class players.
Not many teams have a so call world class player, it's more about the blend of the players you knit together as a team. However there is no doubt that having one is a big plus for any team.
England lack a true leader on the pitch. If you don't have that 'world class' player that can turn a game you need a captain. Unless my memory is fading, Bryan Robson was the last.
Agreed to a degree...though as you point out it helps....Portugal have Ron, Belgium: Hazard, Brazil: Neymar, Argentina: Messi....Germany don't have anyone truly world class, but have the blend you refer to. The only truly world class Brit at the moment is Bale.
