Leicester have been looking to bring in cover in the centre of defence after injuries to captain Wes Morgan and Robert Huth last season exposed a lack of depth in that position. Maguire was a standout performer for Hull and had been expected to leave following their relegation from the Premier League. The 24-year-old joined from Sheffield United for a fee of £2.5m in the summer of 2014 and the Blades will receive a windfall from his sale after inserting a sell-on clause.

Yes, I think on last seasons evidence it's a good signing Ed imo....... just Keane and Walker and we'll have a solid defence !
If we still after Evans or another centre half like i suspect we are. For the record I think we will get Kara Mbodji Then the writing is on the wall for Yohan Benalouane. I was never convinced we wanted him even when he was playing. Shakey looked around and there was nothing else left other then him.
It seems like the Keane boat sailed last year when he didn't want to come, and now higher clubs are interested. Ive no problem with Maguire tbh, seemed a favourite at Hull, you don't get that kind of respect from the fanbase if your crap. Wonder if they were looking to get Evans in as well so they can replace both Morgan/Huth, start with 2 fresh faces at CB.
You know what that's what I thought too but a few weeks back I did a comparison of all three this season to see which one I wanted us to go for and surprisingly Maguire actually wins in almost every area. The other two are better at passing and get taken on less but it's minimal difference and he'll have a better midfield ahead of him so I can't even see that being a problem. I'd rather have someone better at defending than ball playing anyway and his stats show he's better at blocking, intercepting and heading and he scored more too in less games. It looks like we're actually getting the best of the three for peanuts.
How many times have you seen him play ed? .... I always like to find out what the fans of his club think - allowing for the fact that they might be pissed off at a player leaving ... http://www.not606.com/threads/harry-maguire.349216/#post-10649483 Seems very positive so far tbf
McShane was a sort of cult hero, nobody though he was any sort of world beater, Maguire's at a completely different level. Against the other players mentioned on this thread, he's better than Gibson, but not as good as Keane.
I am happier that we are signing Maguire over Keane - seems like I'm the only person... Maguire has been the shining star in a ramshackle team - Hull only has 11 senior players or something like that the first half of the season and he still managed to impress. That we are still linked with Mbodji is good as well - he impressed me when I saw him play vs Man Utd.
Despite us starting the season with barely any players, he still hardly played, he didn't get his first league start of the season until October 15th. And we lost that one 6-1.
Confirmed! I'm pleased with it. I think any negativity comes across to me a bit because of him not being a bit name. He's the kind of signing we need and that have done us well
Harry Maguire: Leicester City sign Hull City defender in £17m deal please log in to view this image Maguire scored three goals for Hull City last season Leicester City have signed Hull City defender Harry Maguire in a £17m deal. The 24-year-old has agreed a five-year deal and will link up with his new team-mates in early July before their pre-season training camp in Austria. Maguire told the Foxes' website: "There were a number of clubs interested, but when I met the manager here, he pretty much swayed it into the direction of this club. "Leicester are on the up and it looks very promising for the future."
Have to say that I'm pleased too ... I think he is an excellent prospect and the club has addressed an obvious area of weakness ..
If we was to line up as Zieler Simpson Maguire Benalouane Huth Gray Mendy Ndidi Musa Ulloa Slimani Then our starting line up would have cost us £118M
