Another well timed story. Getting practice in for later in the year? https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/f2-racer-latifi-to-make-renault-rs17-test-debut-906814/ Formula 2 racer Nicholas Latifi will test Renault Formula 1 team's 2017 car for the first time in Barcelona on Wednesday, it has been announced
Renault's issue is they're so obviously holding out for Alonso. Anyone decent might be put off by the high chance of being sent packing in October.
wellllll if mercedes let ferrari and vettel do all the tyre development sessions how the **** can they be surprised the ferrari performs better on the tyres
I thought the interesting quote was that others were "unavailable" - almost seemed like a dig if anything?
We mustn't wish for Mercedes demise to much otherwise where will we be? Not even a Ferrari walk over, simply back to a Vettel domination period. I hope Mercedes get their act together, a few more duds and the championship will effectively no longer be a battle.
I think it's far from over, Merc still have a phenomenal car and allegedly the best driver. Just because they are used to having it their own way and suddenly have a competitor, shouldn't be confused as being the underdog IMO. Merc and Lewis have been preaching from their pulpits about having competition, battling Vettel in equal machinery - well they've got it now.
yeah, though I don't think either is as happy as they said they would be. I knew Ferrari would make more gains than Mercedes PU wise, but I didn't expect it to be so much, or that Mercedes would stand still.

So, Palmers seat.... Robert Kubica is set for his first Formula 1 test since the end of his grand prix racing career in 2011 in a 2012-spec Lotus car at Valencia on Tuesday https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/kubica-set-for-first-f1-test-since-2011-at-valencia-914597/
thats nice, gets a go in the car he missed out on. Imagine what he could have done in it in place of a rusty Kimi
Surprised he's physically up to it. Saw this photo of his arm the other day. It looks terribly atrophied. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DBO8M8QXUAEVys9.jpg Nice to see anyway.
I saw that elsewhere the other day and it was taken relatively recently. The angle makes it look worse than it is, but it's still significant.
Considering this happened, being back in the 2012 car is quite a brave move. I hope its an inspired one.
