Well done Cambridge United ... Iv'e got allot of mates there who will be just a little happy tonight .... I remember us being one of the first teams to use the new away end at the Abbey Stadium .... We won 1-2 I believe
Would Cambridge have preferred to win at home and have a 5th round tie against maybe Watford or draw at home and get tonked at old Trafford? I would go for the latter
Fella I now work with is a season ticket holder at Cambridge, been through some times as rough as us, so good luck to them, the money will make a huge difference to them. Just annoying when I wear my scarf to work and I get knowing grins from idiots who think my scarf is black and yellow ffs.
Do they think you are a Cambridge fan? Cambridge's colours are amber and black. It may not be the case when you are there but on TV it looks more amber than ours does.
Sadly....yes. I've always been quite arsey about our unique amberness but we compared scarves, exact same. Not like mines a knock off either, it's from the club shop.
It annoys me when people say we play in the same colours as Wolves. My mate says their colour is sonic gol, if there is such a thing.
"Everything was against us" he has a ****ing excuse for everything and likes to moan about everything. I hope on the last day of the season we beat them with a dodgy goal to deny them a place in Europe. Something like Elmo crossing it into the box and it hits a bobble in the ground and flies into the air and Jelavic runs into De Gea as he goes to catch the ball but he knocks him out unconscious and then recreates the hand of God moment and scores the winner, he'd have lots to complain about then.
It was amusing when van Gaal bracketed QPR with Yeovil and Cambridge when discussing recent opponents.
I take it you begrudge Steve Bruce for the same "has a ****ing excuse for everything and likes to moan about everything" attitude?
Yeah that made me laugh too. He wasn't making excuses I thought, he was just explaining why that type of game can be difficult and that his players don't play their normal game. Must be quite frustrating for a manager. Cambridge were heroic at the end. Magic of the cup innit.
