I hadn't checked North Ferriby United's results for a while - they were mid-table then. Victory yesterday (3-0) over Fylde sees Ferriby in second place. They've won all there games in November so far. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/results?filter=competition-118996307
They're doing very well, it will be interesting to see what happens if they were actually promoted and needed to do the ground redevelopment, as they're unlikely to get many more turning up.
Their ground is up to scratch for the conference, it wouldn't be a problem as they added the new turnstiles and refreshments at the back. The ground actually holds around 2,700 people. Were they to win the Conference, however, they would probably be denied promotion unless they moved grounds. The biggest conundrum they face (this is from one of the coaches) is, if they do get promoted, do they go full time? At the minute only a few squad members are on enough money that they don't have to work (although they still do, Liam King is a primary school teacher who lives in Mansfield. Commitment.) so if they went full time, they'd have to get more staff in and offer their players contracts. They could still have players on non-contract terms, but it has to be them that accepts it. You're right though, I doubt the home crowds will improve, but you can guarantee the away attendances will go up, which would probably help a little.
They're at home to leaders Nuneaton tomorrow night (for anyone who needs a footy fix before Friday). Win that and they go top on goal difference!
I shall be going to NFU tonight. Nothing like a top 2 clash and the winner is top at the final whistle. Much better than having to suffer either Chelsea or Arsenal in CL action on the box.
Bet its bloody freezing , I was gonna go , but bottled it last min , its to cold, and there is nowhere in the ground to get warm apart from the Bar!! But you can't see the game from there sadly
Yeah, FA trophy aside, they seem to choke when it really matters. They ****ed up the playoffs, have been within seconds of raching the Fa Cup first round a few times and have lost everytime. They don't seem to be able to win when the time comes. They need to change that if they go up.
Whilst it was not T-shirt weather It was more than ok if you had a warm coat to put on. I have known NFU far colder in the past. You can from one of the gents toilets in the bar area. Not the best idea mind. They also hit the post and missed a few other chances. Whilst a draw would be have been nice for Ferriby, nobody could really argue with the result. btw, Nuneaton had thee Marlon Harewood. He came on in the 2nd half. Whilst he did not score he has 3 goals from 11 apps for them so far.
Not properly , they could build something on top of the bar , with glass fronted windows , VIP bar or something , where you can watch the game with bottle of prosseco
