Yes, a very good film. As with all "true stories" though, there are differing perspectives. Although more hill walker than climber I have always liked mountaineering films. If you fancy more I would recommend:-
Cheers, I'l give that a go, Keep em coming. What did you think of Appaloosa btw. Entertaining enough but a bit weak overall I thought. That 8 gauge shotgun was a right tease too. Waited all film to see him take out a row of baddies in one shot and he never used it! Forgot another great mountaineering film from above. Full film on youtube. Unfortunately not very good quality. Edit- Awful quality. Well worth downloading a HD version and watching on big screen though as it has some stunning photography. (And some unfathomable heroics/stupidity.)
I watched Suffragette last night, as the name suggests, it's the story of the suffragette movement (actually the story of Maud Watts, who accompanied Emily Davidson to the The Derby when she jumped under the horse). Meryl Streep plays Emily Pankhurst, but it's little more than a cameo, it's watchable without being anything to write home about.
`The Shallows` was a good film with great acting. ps off topic i watched Ross Kemp ,the fight against ISIS last night...that was some seriously brave war reporting or he really does need the cash.
Definitely I'd seen the start before, and the cinematography is brilliant, but the whole film was better than I expected to be honest
It may be the second time I've seen ,"the Martian", but like all good films you never get tired of watching them....
Watched Eye In The Sky last night, Helen Mirren and Alan Rickman play British military working on a joint operation with the US to take out some suicide bombers in Kenya. Not your average war film, the story revolves around the moral dilemma of a drone strike on building with a young girl immediately outside. I thought it was excellent.
