Perhaps we shouldnt be too puzzled by Chappers clear loss of form. He has played brilliantly and loves the Club, and he is very popular.

But those 7 or 8 missed passes & flicks and wild shots is not his style.
He has missed Hirst and Burns in the side. And lets not forget he is a young Dad, no doubt losing sleep!

The 2 week break will do him good, as well as the rest of the team. If Burns and Hirst do make it back, then I really look forward to our last 3 games.

I think we will need 2 wins and a draw.

I have to say, when people accuse the top 3 of bottling it or say the pressure is getting to them, I think it's really harsh. I honestly think that all 3 clubs have just given so much throughout the season that it's probably the physicality that is taking its toll, yes there will be a certain amount of mental fatigue but the physical effort that has been put into this long, hard and relentless season is massive. I would say more so than other seasons, purely because of the quality that is in this division this year.
Whatever the outcome, the top 3/4 can be bloody proud of themselves!!

Next up Southampton v Preston. Maybe we want Southampton to win it to stay competitive?

Suspect we'll be back in third by the time we play again... But with way, would like to think we can use the break to set ourselves properly for the last push. All 3 teams will be pushing for points so they'll leave gaps for our runners to exploit - just have to rediscover the final ball. let's be optimistic, we can win them all. Hopefully might suit us to be away from home.

We could technically be down to 4th by the time we play. Southampton play 4 times before our next game

Technically true, but lets hope not. Technically, we could still be top! But unlikely.

I'm genuinely hopeful of a decent third. Leicester failing to win, Leeds just ahead but with Southampton yet to play.

Not sure if my stress levels can handle it. Can’t believe how much this means to me - hoping for defeats / draws for the other 3. Would take needing to win the final game for automatic promotion right now

First game of stress started 6 minutes ago.
I can't work out if I want Saints to win or not?

You don't need to worry about that - they are spanking Preston so let's assume it's a good thing!

I feel IF Leeds win their next two, it would be a tall order for you guys to get two wins, a win and draw you’d be behind on GD

Two draws and we’d only need a draw with Southampton unless you manage a record breaking last day win.

One away defeat for us or two draws and it’s game over. If we manage two wins and you come away with a draw and defeat you might be cheering us on last day

So many possible scenarios and crazy how they feel the fixture list is fair one way or the other.

Southampton are the in form team, they’re over their jitters whilst the rest of us seem in the middle of ours

It’s in our favour in so many ways:
    - We’re top with points already on the board, knowing that we’re in control of our fate.
    - we have a two week break to train and get levels up.
    - we will know more or less what we have to do with most of the other fixtures already played.
    - Leicester have really tough games.
    - Southampton have to pack a lot of games into a short space of time. They will be knackered.
    - Leicester face Southampton, they can’t both win.
    - Leeds face Southampton, they can’t both win.

Also, your scenarios are about winning the title. We only really care about second spot.

I agree with most of this, the two week break will be hugely in your favour if results go your way.

However; If ourselves and Leicester win our next two and Leicester will still have a game in hand, the two week break will suddenly be against you.

The pressure will increase to get results, I think there is a danger of being slightly rusty, two weeks is just too long when others are playing and you have a long trip back from Hull an 8pm kick off and 72 hours later you need to be on the pitch against Coventry.

Lots of ifs and buts and how recent results have gone, I’d definitely not put money on Leeds and Leicester winning their next two

Add in the fact Burns and Hirst are very close to a return (according to someone at the Club I was talking to today)

So Saints win and are the in form team.
It's all a bit stressful so need to divert and be busy with other things like gardening, getting outdoors to take our minds off footie! The only really silly thing is we were a gnats piss of a post's width in the last 2 games of being 6 pts clear at the top! But thats football.

We can all predict what we like and other forums have pages of posts on possible outcomes, formulae, stats, finishing points but lets just wait and see where we are and be mighty proud of what we have achieved.

Why is everyone getting all hung up about Hirst possibly being back?
He hasn't kicked s ball in 5 months, there's no chance he'll have any impact in the next three games....play offs maybe
