Lazy work, yet again. Highest position "9th". Really? Or have you just multiplied 7 x 3 to make 21 and added that to their current pathetic total and then looked to see where that would put them now without considering the points the other teams in the division would also acquire on a best case scenario for SunderlandNil? Musty would have worked it all out.
Theoretically they can still finish 9th on goal difference, even taking into account games that teams above them have to play against each other. In other news: Theoretically I could win the lottery on Tuesday night, Obi could win slimmer of the year, Albert could discover fashion sense and Pouchy could stop being a ****. Ok I've gone too far...... Theoretically I could win the lottery on Tuesday night, Obi could win slimmer of the year and Albert could discover fashion sense.
But think about it, there is actually a very good chance of me winning slimmer of the year. The bigger the start point, the more there is to lose quicker.
Yes, but just as with Sunderland having the best opportunity to improve on their current league position of any team in the Premier League - it's not so much about opportunity as it is about ability!
Starting to look like it is definitely 3 from 4 now. The mackems and boro need to start winning games fast or this countdown won't last very long!
Anyone else find it ironic that the Final Countdown was a song by Europe, yet this final countdown takes the mackems ever further away.
Updated after the West Ham game. Despite the equaliser, that has to be seen as two points dropped in the grand scheme of things. I think best case scenario for Sunderland will be that they need 34 or 35 points to survive. Those two dropped points today mean they will probably need to win their next four games and then win at either Arsenal or Chelsea to stay up. Even that might not be enough.
