Online is always cheaper mate, try bulk powders. Waxy maize is probably best for you as the sugar will be negligible. Protein shakes really won't make too much of a difference to an endurance cardio enthusiast energy or mass wise, you're better off having carbs for sure.

Off to the gym now as it happens!

One thing that absolutely winds me up are those people who go to the gym and then hardly put any effort in - what's the point?

When I finish my session I am wringing wet and some people (usually the women) do look at me in disgust for daring to have a hair out of place.

Endurance, it's your bag given your military history, each person is different.

I hate running but respect anybody who ha the discipline to do it consistently.

My gym is full of them mate, 3 lads who turn up every morning at 6:30... They chat away about music and films and game of thrones... Never break sweat, look like ****. I wouldn't even bother.

I'm 6ft 4in and 102kg and I've always struggled with my weight. I've got London Marathon next year and really want to be 90kg for that but just can't seem to have the will power. I'm good for a few weeks then seem to blow out for a few days. Also heavier I get the more it impacts on my back. Probably need to do more weights or boot camp or something but God knows how I'm going to stop the food/alcohol!!

I was a runner. Cross country. A tortoise with 3 legs carrying a fridge would probably out sprint me over 100m

I notice a massive difference when im on it mate. I can lift heavier weights and it stops the muscles from fatigue when trying to push the reps out.

Do you dissolve your creatine powder in hot water? I do, about 50ml hot water til it dissolves then put 450ml cold in immediately afterwards then neck it. It works a million times better that way.

Unless you take gel caps or tabs lol.

All your problems are solved. Or dissolved if you like mate, I'm full of useful info me you know. You'll notice a difference by the way, it's not half as effective without dissolving apparently!

How much stock do you guys put in supplements and the like? I'm not a really serious lifter but my routine of lifting weights before a protein heavy meal works for me.

I've had a load of whey powder in the past but my way of thinking is that the best way to gain strength and size is to work hard with the weights and not to rely on powders and whatnot to bulk up.

Supplements should be exactly that, and anybody who doesn't have control over their diet may as well forget supps like Whey.

I know a guy who has whey isolate then has Cheerios for breakfast, straight up, idiot.

The body cannot naturally create enough Creatine to satisfy a true bodybuilder, I think you'd have to eat something like 3kg of Tuna per day to get it from food. Creapure Monohydrate is cheap as chips, cheaper even.

I carb load after training, restoring glycogen and glucose levels speed repair and chuck some protein in there too.

Fast digesting carbs are optimum, so supps help here too.
