I would imagine there is a buyout clause, but good business by city<applause><applause><applause>

Defender commits his long-term future to the club.

    • Defender agrees new deal until 2020
    • Flint is a lynchpin of the City defence
    • Two-time Player of the Year award winner
Aden Flint has put pen to paper on a new contract, keeping him at the football club until the summer of 2020.

The big centre-half, 27, is a dominant presence and has now made 169 appearances for the club since joining in 2013, scoring 25 times.

Flint’s continuing good form has prompted the club to reward him with a new deal, which he signed today.

Head coach Lee Johnson said: “Aden’s career progression has been excellent, right through from his non-league days.

“He’s continued to impress for us, gaining experience at Sky Bet Championship level. His attributes are clear for everyone to see; his physical presence as well as his defensive and goalscoring abilities.

“He’s valuable for us and we felt it was the right time for us to invite him in and talk about an extended deal, which we’re delighted he has signed.”

Flint told Bristol City Player HD: “It was an easy decision for me. I’ve been here four years now; it was a tough start but I haven’t looked back since.

“I’ve already got a lot of happy memories and hopefully there will be plenty more.

“Bristol City feels like a family. We’re a tight-knit group and I couldn’t be happier to agree a new contract here.”

Flint has won the Player of the Year award for the past two seasons.

He does a good job in general, always room for improvement especially on the deck.

Why would you want him removed then?

Not at present doing fine, but he was having a wobble earlier in the season.
Young Taylor Moore looks a very accomplished player in that central defender position.

Do you ever have a little 'wobble' in life? perhaps as a 'supporter' you could give him a little time and 'support' to help him through his wobble?

You would have removed what has become our leader and most steady player because of your impatience!
