I have a feeling that we may see one of two of our forgotten men step up and surprise one or two of us?

    My money is Saivet.

He played well last night and hopefully he can prove a few wrong.

We may even see Haidara come of age........

    tick tick tick......

It'll be like having two new signings....................... which will be just as well, seeing as though it looks like we are struggling to get two actual new signings!!

Genuinely I hope they do come good.
Saivet, De Jong, Lazaar and Aaron's.
Despite lack of signings so far if those 4 hit some sort of form then it's 4 players we didn't really have before.

The 'line' burglar has struck again it seems.... hopefully the police will recover it in time for the start of the season.

It boils my piss reading headlines like...

Rafa hopes to get x in by the weekend... hopes are high that y will sign by x.....

The papers should say **** all until the player is holding the scarf.

I genuinely fear that Ashley has struck again. The guy simply has zero affection for the club, we are just an advertising board for him and his tat. He will put zero cash into the club unless we go down again. He has never and will never learn regarding NUFC and I do genuinely believe that he takes pleasure in treating highly regarded professionals like twats.

The other issue at play here is that Charnley is being shown for the over promoted tea boy that he is. When he was doing deals for straight cash he was fine. As soon as he had to start actual negotiating and structuring payments into the deal............ he's ****ed. Proper MD's and Chief Exec's must piss them self laughing when that podgy little ****er waddles in looking to buy on the cheap................... I mean get best value!!!

Its all a bit Deja vu for me. Honestly, I'm willing to take our chances with new 'owner'............. the sooner Ashley sells up and ****s off the better for me.

The market has been demolished by the ridiculous transfer fees. Jacob Murphy would have cost 5-6 million last year, and now we'll probably have to part with 10-12 million to get him.

Saivet I haven't seen enough of to be sure but I suspect he's not good enough. De Jong is just too slow and has a bad injury record, although has a decent touch for sure. Lazaar I know for a fact isn't good enough (League 1 level from what I've seen). Aarons isn't good enough yet but he has talent and could make the grade if he stays injury free and knuckles down. Rafa might be having a look at them but I'm pretty sure he'll arrive at the same conclusion as I have.

Agree save for De Jong. For me he has a footballing brain and that will make up for his lack of relative speed. He could be a good "number 10" if he stays clear of injury which is his biggest problem.

It didn't in the past when he played in the EPL. Where do you think he would play?

He's only played 22 times for us in fits and starts including coming on as sub. He can play and he has good touch. He needs a run without injury which has been his biggest bugbear since joining us.

He is a class above Diame and I would give him a chance. You don't Captain Ajax for no reason.

I doubt Rafa will have him starting many games and is probably trying to get shot because he knows HE IS TOO SLOW FOR THE PREMIER LEAGUE.

Too slow for #10. Not good physical enough or a good enough tackler for CM (and too slow). So where is he going to play?

Pace is pointless if you don't do anything with the ball. Some of the greatest players ever were never blessed with explosive pace. They were however intelligent on the ball and had the technique and intelligence to open teams up with a pass due to their quick vision - Zidane, Cruyff, Gazza spring to mind.

De Jong is a very intelligent player and when fully fit and sharp is a potential match winner.

You get aload of runners around you and it's not so noticeable. Think that was half our problem under Mclaren, the headless chicken that is Sissoko seemed to be the fastest we had.
Dunno what it is but I always liked Siem, hope it all works out but he'll probably get a season-long injury next week in a not-so-horror tackle with Aarons, that also puts him out for a year

    Nah, you're wrong.

Aaron's will pull a hamstring in the dressing room just before the last pre season friendly whilst bending over to tie his boot laces. He'll then become the first player not good enough to tie his own boot laces

And the friction in the air will fall on siem's weak little body, which will smash into a thousand pieces
