Don't normally watch RL on the telly but know one or two of their fans who have made the long trek to Doncaster for the game tonight. They seem to be quite well followed unlike Wigan Wildcats who seem to be boycotting this one. Hull are having a great season with Ronnie Radford at the helm and a top 10 finish definitely looks on the cards. Should they get to Wembley, they might consider getting Phil Brown or Steve Bruce in advisors on how to win there. Too early for an entertainment rating, but the atmosphere seems to be a tepid 5/10 in the half empty League 2 football ground.
Some of the 7000 tIckets were still on sale yesterday evening. Children under 2 were FOC but a ticket was needed. Is that a concession? Seriously who would take a 1+ child to Doncaster for an 8pm KO
There's 7,000 FC fans there and a rather paltry 2,000 Wigan fans and the capacity is less than 15,000.
Commentators keep saying how Hull fans have travelled in numbers on the onerous journey of just over 40 miles. However the journey from Wigan posed insurmountable difficulties for most of their fans. To be fair it is 80 miles or so.
Apologies to any expats or younger fans who may be upset or distressed by some of the content of this thread,
'Its a difficult game to get too for the Wigan fans'......one over excited commentator However had to chuckle at the pre match stats.....'Wigan have won the Cup at Wembley nineteen times, and appeared in a Final thirty odd times, Hull FC have appeared three times at Wembley and never won there......'
Fair play to the Wigan lad who's had his nose smashed all over his face. 'The doctor has manipulated the nose so he can breath'. He's still on the pitch, some of the fairies that play football should take note. Elmo particularly.
Yes, you certainly have to admire the fitness and toughness of modern day rugby players. Of both codes. They certainly show up a lot of footballers.
here goes the Hull FC hating ref (commonly known in rugby league by the way ) ... lets see if they hold out
