Think that is probably the best outcome for both him and the club, and prevents the club having to make a decision over whether to keep or sack.
Good for the club I think, from a non-playing point of view anyway. Can't be good for the player to be out of work with all the rest swirling around him.
I felt this was always going to be the case when the verdict was announced. I'm pleased that he had the decency to make the decision to leave - however it is a truly unforgiveable crime and had he showed some decency and respect to the woman concerned then he would not have been in this position. I think the club handled it well.
Semantics notdistant. Technically you are right I know but then again Blair didn't personally kill anyone in Iraq..............
No they didn't. It was decided that there was insufficient evidence for a reasonable chance of conviction. That does not mean there was no evidence and nor does it mean it wasn't a close decision either. It could have meant there wasn't quite enough. When the evidence that was available was put to a Judge, not a Jury granted, who having a lot of experience decided in favour of the plaintif. So I stand by my technicality comment.
Well at least he has gone.. no more worries about what he did.... Wonder if he will get another club after that?
Correct, she said they did, although she couldn't remember the precise details, they (2 of them) said they didn't. There's a developing culture in which a woman can do a thing, then change her mind Police are being instructed to assume people accused of sexual assaults are guilty even when there is absolutely no evidence to support a complaint. A slightly different area I know, but it's in the papers today that one of the "victims" who alleged they'd been trafficked for sexual assault by VIP London paedophile rings was in fact in a young offenders prison hospital in Northern Ireland for two years around the time the offences were said to have occurred. Shame the police didn't spot that minor flaw in the allegation......
We could argue this all day long and make no difference. As Joe says he's gone. Good as far as I'm concerned others may not agree.
