Quite a few articles in the media today about Gravitational Waves proving Einstein theories where correct a 100 odd years ago ...though I'm disappointed that time travel isn't a step closer as yet ... but it opens up the possibility of it. https://www.theguardian.com/science...e-thrilled-by-discovery-ripples-in-space-time
Would you volunteer to go first in the time machine if they made one? Given the way they think it has to happen, molecular deconstruction and reconstruction. Even if they got your appearance bang on, what about memory, etc. I'd be more than happy for you to go first.
Maybe we're all time travellers and just don't know it yet? The thought of spaghettification has a certain attraction - what a way to go !
I'm not ready yet! Leave me here. Imagine being able to go back to last week when you had 2 crates of beer in your fridge and then fetching them to the future, you'd never have to buy beer again. And birthday presents, you could check what you were getting in the future and then travel back to the present (no pun intended) and make sure you got the wifey something equally **** in advance.
Well for what it's worth, as a scientist, it's a great story. More interesting than the supermod politik/numerous threads on the same topic bumfluff that I thought was over yesterday.
It is a fascinating story. Anyone who wants to teach their kids (or themselves) particle physics, this is a book my late dad wrote and had published when I was a kid, he was a physicist. Its a fictional story. http://www.lulu.com/gb/en/shop/ian-lynch/tales-from-the-microcosm/paperback/product-15375409.html
I would get excited if only I had a clue about what they are talking about, goes straight over the top of this old blokes head, sad but true.
A few areas actually, physics and geophysics mainly at Uni fell under my degree. Of course I'm also interested in the study of human evolution, which is why I swing by every so often to see what stage Billy is at, and whether he's caught up with the rest of us yet...
To quote a great comedian/writer.... "Eddies in the space/time continuum" "Is he?" "what?" "Eddy. Is he in this space/time thingy?" x
Two atoms. One said to the other "I think I've lost an electron" The other asks "Are you sure?" The first one replies "I'm positive"
