Seems like a lifetime ago but in fact is only 2 years since that wonderful day at Wembley..........

A lot has happened in that time, we've endured Kneecap and a crap season in the Prem, bonus away games, the Rio Ferdinand farewell tour, rubbish signings who were only with us for the money.....

Then a season of consolidation in Championship, bargain basement signings, whom IMO some will come good, a cult figure in BFG, a new manager and DOF whom seem to have a plan........maybe things aren't so bad after all.

Anyway the one thing that can't be taken away from us are the memories of that day and the noise when the ball hit the back of the net, still get goosebumps when sitting quietly thinking about it........

    All together......"Oh Bobby Zamora......."

    What a fantastic day!!
    Our joy was complete.
I had a Derby fan client soon after who confidently stated that we would simply get relegated again. I thought, 'No, not this time. We will get it right now'.
    Alas and oh dear.
    Joy, now tempered with reality.

As opposed to Derby fans, who have had the reality but, alas, no joy... :)

What a fantastic day that was, Derby fans in the pub before the game not giving us a prayer made the result all the sweeter. When OBZ scored it was a surreal moment, as only then did I realise how close to the end of the game it was.
    Great day....

We're normally the team that falls to the sucker punch, so to have tables turned for once was sweet.

Have to say I felt for the Derby fans that day. They came out of the stadium like zombies.

And very quickly too. I've never seen half a stadium empty so quickly. I was accused on facebook of photoshopping the image, it was that dramatic...

The shots of that woman nearly blabbing and that beefy fella with grumpy disbelief were priceless. All a bit bitter / sweet now though.

I can understand how that would colour your perception. I didn't come across any like that fortunately, and the atmosphere before the match with fans of both clubs picnicking on the grass was great. I just kept thinking, who's day's gonna be ruined in two hours... and it was THEIRS! <cheers>

Yes, it made the emergency in Old Trafford last week look positively lethargic

Just played this through my site radio, sound is amazing. Loudest cheer for a QPR goal ever?

The day is a bit of a blur to me. Only certain bits I remember. Up at the crack of dawn for a red eye flight to Luton. Travelled to Wembley and got in the queue to collect 22 tickets. Back to Hennessy's Pub to distribute the tickets. Spent the whole time there looking for people, trying to have a pint and a bit of grub. Met loads of familiar faces there which was brilliant. Got the tube to Wembley Park and the walk down Wembley way which was enjoyable. I remember hugging Col who was sitting about 6 seats down from me after we scored. We were booked on a 18.30 flight (or was it 19.30 hours?) out of Luton after the game so I was delighted it didn't go into extra time. I remember coming out of the stadium and shaking the hand of the first Derby fan I seen to say hard luck. Dashed back to Kingsbury to get our pre-booked taxi and made the dash up the M1 to Luton airport. The faces on the Derby fans as we waved our flags out the taxi window at them. I remember getting home and I just collapsed into the bed I was so tired. Great day. Will never be forgotten.

The great thing for me about that clip is that I was sat behind the main camera for that goal. So when I watch it back again on the numerous occasions that I do, I get a virtual replay of what I actually saw to re-live that incredible moment in time.

I was to your right, top tier. Not sure that I remember the ball hitting the net, but the noise was phenomenal, more than my ears are built to deal with, so it became a twisted, whirling roar, bit like lightning had gone off next to be.
