Football is our sport. There is the huge complication of the Sky money which makes the bigger and better teams independent of gate revenue but, nevertheless, it is our sport. Therefore, the FA should, ultimately, represent the fans and our various teams. Given that at one time or another, every club has suffered from incorrect line calls, disallowed goals, phantom goals etc then surely we should petition the FA? I'm not sure how many people attend football matches week in week out but it has to be a couple of million at least. If we got 500 000 signatures calling for goal line tech across The Championship and L1 and 2, do you think they might listen or am I just wasting energy?
As it's a league issue, surely the petition should be towards the Football League, not the FA (goal-line tech is not allowed in FA Cup). Eventually the use of this technology will be commonplace through all leagues, especially with the financial gains to be made from promotion to the Premier League, so would expect the Championship to receive it first. Not sure how much it cost the club to install when we were in the PL, and don't know if the infrastructure is still in place, but surely it is a fraction of the money we wasted on Sandro amd others.
I hope its not Deja Vu re the Bolton game and it will be between us and Blackburn on last day of the season....surely we are too good?
Strangely enough Blackburn had a clear goal ruled out against Fulham in a 2-1 defeat at Craven Cottage last season. It occurs at about 1.35 ...
The horse has already bolted - lets hope come the end of the season that it doesn't cost us our place in this league. About time that we had this fitted in this league.
Better late than never......won't get us the point back at Blackburn so the team needs to ensure that it gets the 20 or so point that we need to be safe asap.......a win this Saturday at Brum would be a good start.
Good news. Heard it on 5Live this morning but too busy a day to post. I,too, hope we're still in this league to benefit from it.
