Are you sure this is happening tomorrow or will you drag it out for 10-12 days before he confirms that he is staying?
I dont understand this. When he has played and granted I might have only seen 2 or 3 of these, he wasn't worse than what we have, by no means is he any better, but I see no reason as to why he wasnt given more of a chance. De Jong for instance, every time he was fit (also a rarity) it seemed like we tried to accomodate him into the side. Saviet started his career as an attacking player and perhaps should have been given a chance in a CAM role. I get that I dont see him train, but he hasnt been publicly outspoken like other players ahem! he just seemed to get his head down and get on with it. I feel sorry for the lad, should have had a lot more match time before being written off.
I assume he must just want out. You really have to question our thinking at times. I think though to be fair to the club they were trying to do the right thing. Tiote was off to China in January last year and given our situation, we didn't want to get left short. They went for what was available and Tiote went nowhere. Tiote then went on to play a lot of games (very well) for Benitez. In terms of his quality its hard to tell. Maybe Benitez just doesn't fancy him ability wise. Or perhaps he didn't sign up to play Championship.
