    Though from that bunch we could only possibly buy Benteke, and only him for a significant sum of money, in region of 20+ milion.

    There is only one on that list we could possibly get and even then, I think he'd be out of our range due to fee, wages required, club willing to sell to us, etc, etc.... Benteke

    I was not saying we had a chance of signing any/many of those players, I was just disputing that Hernandez was world class and said I could name 10 better strikers in the PL

    I am torn tbh. I don't massively rate him, but I am pretty fussy about strikers, and really don't like poacher type strikers as I feel it is like playing with 10 men most of the time. But he is realistically up there with the best we could get rep wise (if he does actually want to come), and we have been crying out for a different style player to Pelle.

    So overall I don't think I would be over the moon but I wouldn't be completely against it either. Hows that for some fence sitting :D

    Benteke would never come to us, he is destined for the top. I have watched a lot of villa as my best mate is a huge fan, and it was not his fault that he stopped scoring, it was Paul lamberts awful management. Benteke is an unbelievable footballer

    I also think the chances to sign Austin or Ings are pretty slim, can see Spurs/Liverpool type teams being in for them. Think the striker we go for will more than likely come from abroad.

    I could see Benteke thinking of us as a stepping stone club, coming to us for a couple of years before moving on higher.

    I honestly can't see City or Chelsea going for him this summer, and I'm not sure that Wenger would take him for Arsenal. Liverpool I'm sure would be interested, but they have a lot of repair work to do elsewhere in their side, so if they feel that they can keep Sturridge for a whole season, then they might not concern themselves with spending big on a striker. So in the PL that leaves Utd and Spurs - and the latter have their golden boy scoring left, right and centre, so again might be a side who are unwilling to spend big on a striker this summer. But Utd...
