...but is set for Premier League debut against Stoke. Defender, 17, would be one of the lowest-paid players in Premier League history if called into action. please log in to view this image JOSH TYMON is set for his Premier League debut at Hull City on Saturday – while he is still on just £160 a week. Tymon, 17, hopes to get the SOS call to face Stoke City from boss Mick Phelan after Andy Robertson was ruled out of their plans. And that could mean the Tiger cub becomes one of the lowest paid players in Premier League history, because he is still officially a scholar at the club. Tymon has yet to be sorted out with a professional deal despite making appearances in the FA Cup and EFL Cup. The Tigers have had so many other problems to sort out that Tymon is still on their ‘to do’ list and that’s why he is earning a tiny sum in comparison to his mates and opponents. Stoke star Joe Allen, for example, is on £75,000 a week and earns more in a day than what Tymon pockets in a year! Tymon is in the frame to start on Saturday as the alternative is to play Sam Clucas out of position. Hull are desperately searching for free agents who can fill the role for the next two months - but there are none around. The teenager, from Kingston-upon-Hull, was given his FA Cup debut as a 16-year-old by Steve Bruce at Bury in January this year. And last season the left-back impressed for the Under-21s. Consistency there combined with his cup debut saw him given another chance to shine, this time in the FA Cup fifth-round against Arsenal at the Emirates. He was named Hull's Academy Player of the Season for 2015/16 and has represented England Under-17s. City need to bounceback after their 6-1 hammering at the hands of Bournemouth while Stoke look to keep momentum after their first win of the season over bottom-placed Sunderland. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/foot...s-set-for-premier-league-debut-against-stoke/
Football club pays sensible wage shocker. Naturally, the entire top-end wage 'structure' is beyond ridiculous. However, for the sake of the holistic education of these youngsters, there should be a severe cap on earnings until they reach 21 - unless they have kids themselves.
So basically, you're saying to earn more money they would have to have kids they already can't afford? What a great idea, encourage kids to have kids!
Read what I put - I don't outline what the removal of a (hypothetical) cap would entail at all, if they had kids. Naturally, like society does in other areas, I would expect that if these U21 players did have children, they'd should earn more to accommodate and look after their family. Hardly a massive carrot for 'kids to have kids', so calm down.
And let's not forget, Josh has to pay to get in. **** it Josh, I'll get you a ticket mate. £30 nowt to me... Oh wait... Lammy mate, can I borrow £30?
He really should be playing, sacrificing Clucas in DM would be madness, especially against a physical team like Stoke.
Or, alternatively, they could get child tax credits, income support, working tax credits, child benefit and housing benefit like all the other young mothers and fathers.
Maybe so. But still, despite that provision, there's an incredible amount of children in poverty in this country.
Maybe so, but he's got massive earning potential that the poor sod stacking shelves hasn't and the shelf stacker is (likely) to be grafting for their wage. When I was his age, I'd have played for nigh on **** all.
I was talking to Rick at one of the U23 games, and he was saying this is the reason he is not at his best this season, pissed off with not being offer a better contract. With Arsenal and Spurs apparently stiffing round, the boy is unsettled.
Well if true that is just the appalling attitude which will hinder his progress and stops a lot of English talent from making it.
I agree, you would think he would want to showcase himself. But we have seen it before when heads get turned, and I can understand him being a bit pissed off if he is only on £160 PW, and not being offered new terms.
I have to say I am not familiar with the academy pay structure, but if you have a player that looks as if he will turn into a first team player, and is training with the first team squad, I would think you would try and tie them down to a contract.
I'm not advocating ridiculous wages for young players but ****ing hell another example of the Allams ****ing people about. I hope he leaves, goes on to great things. and sends that pair of twats a Xmas card every year.
