Could it be reconstructed, somewhere like one of the gaps on High Street or better yet around Fruit Market and Humber St.? I'd hoped they'd do that with Wellington House, I think it was called (Fruit Market), which they brought down recently.

The light stacks are permanent. They were planned even before the street scene improvements to illuminate those buildings.
    I agree that they're a bit intrusive.

Was that the building that wrapped around the corner of Wellington St/Queen St?

That's the one I mean. Not sure if that was its name though.

The reason I asked was that I lived in that place in 70/71. Carlo's was at one end (Queen Street) and we lived in 'offices' above a fruit warehouse in Wellington Street, around the corner from Carlo's.

Cool video, Lambo, but where's the 'boom-town traffic'?

Doesn't look to me like it'll improve things that much, but then again I know a grand eff-all about traffic management.

The Ferensway/Castle Street flyover (where the traffic lights roundabout is) looks a tad optimistic. It'll need lights to control the traffic flow.

Looks a bit like my attempts to construct a wine rack I bought.

Why have they put up buildings without windows and doors?

Shame on you.... someone was paid scores of thousands of pounds to design that. He didn.t get an A level in Art for nothing..

A mate of mine, from around here, was up in York, Flamborough, etc., a week ago. They travelled by train from Brid. and he said the worst bit was getting from Paragon to the Ferens. The middle of the road (Paragon St?) was fenced off - for blocking and he said if you took the wrong side of the obstruction, you ended up having to start again - really difficult journey from Station to Gallery!
