Really unfair the way Keane and Weir leapfrogged over Bowen into the first team squad. The kid couldnt have done anymore.
Phil Buckingham @PJBuckingham Says a lot about James Weir and Will Keane. Both turned up at training this morning and asked to play in the u-23s tonight #hcafc
Just back from the game, a very good game of football to watch and a 4-2 win. City dominated the early exchanges and went 1-0 by a well-taken goal from Bowen who came in on the far post to side-foot volley into the net. Watford came back into the game as the half progressed and got a soft-looking penalty, which Federico Mechede (remember him?) took and sent Mannion the wrong way 1-1 at half time. Second half Bowen was replaced by Jonathan Edwards and City started dominated, Will Annan put city ahead with a well-taken goal hitting home coming in from the right. Against the run of play Watford beat the offside trap and Ogo scored with a scuffed shot that crept in. City continued to press and Jonathan Edwards finished a fine header after a pinpoint cross from Annan who had switched to the left. City finished the game off with a very well taken goal by Keane his first touch took him in front of the defender and hit a rasping shot which the keeper had no chance with. Overall a very good performance by City, Weir was excellent in midfield, Bowen played well until he went off, Tymon had a good game as did Batty and Annan. Keane worked hard and improved as the game went on, and finished the evening off with a fine goal.
