In the right league he might have been good but not convinced he can do it in PL and now his confidence & form are shot
So negative. You are in a cup final. You can't win every game 10-0 fielding 11 local lads every week, you spoiled plastic!!
It was a poor display by United. No point in arguing the toss. Of course we would have preferred a 3-0 or a 4-0 win against opposition who had been given no chance. Anyway that defeat should motivate the players for the Hull match at OT. The key thing was to get through the tie. The final will be a good one. The Saints are playing well and were well on top of the RS who are now on the slide whether they like or not. We'll certainly need to play well to beat Puel's men.
True, but ultimately if you are going to have a poor performance and lose a game then it's best if you lose a two legged tie but still win on aggregate. As you say, hopefully it will motivate the players going forwards, as there is always a risk that a good run breeds complacency and a longer term drop off in form. Bit like it's done for Liverpool and City over the last few games in fact.
Cup final tickets arrived. Stan Jr and I will be travelling to and from the game with my Saints supporting brother in law who will be staying with us
