He'll probably be chomping at something mate.

He even confessed himself, he has trouble with motivating himself. I doubt he'll play very much for you.

Well there you go then that says it all about him. No wonder he never fulfilled expectations after making his debut for Everton as a young kid.

I bet hed be motivated if he was on a get paid when you play contract.

Just watching Lens play for Fenerbahce against Feyenoord. He's not done anything spectacular yet but he's seeing plenty of the ball and he's getting stuck in. Looking at this, given the chance, he could have made a real difference for us this season.

I just dont think hes cut for the Premier league. Physically he is but the game just seemed to pass him by.
That said i wish he was still here now though seems though we got rid of him and never bought in a replacement. :emoticon-0183-swear

You're probably right. He just looks to have a lot more about him in this game than what we've got available currently

    Dunno mate,

I thought that about Sess and was a bit gutted when he despite his inconsistency but he's now been released by West Brom I think (unless I imagined it!) Problem seems to be that players with skill and graft aren't going to stay with us and players with skill but no graft can't because we're always a bit poor (Sess/Khazri/Alvarez etc). Not sure of the answer but Borini is maybe the ideal blend to stay and do something, if he wasn't injured all the time.

One day we'll get the right balance and move onwards and upwards so we can have a luxury player like Nos again I'm sure :cheesy:

I don't get this viewpoint. I still maintain that pretty much every game I saw Lens play for us he managed to see a fair bit of the ball going forward and always looked useful, if not the hardest worker tracking back. I can't think of a single game I'd say "passed him by" are you thinking of any in particular mate?

Most games I saw last season apart from West Ham. Thats only my opinion of course.
His previous clubs before us all had about 70% possesion most games so coming to a club like Sunderland where we need players to track back and fight to get the ball back from the opposition was a complete shock to the system to him, hence the fact hes doing well again now for Fenerbahce who will dominate most teams in the Turkish league.
Hes ok when he can stay in the opponents half.

You and Lens should get a room mate. Seriously, I agree with you. Would he improve our squad? Yes. Is he our player? Yes. Why isn't he here? **** knows.

Frustrates me the way we never seem to give players like that a chance.

1:30 a tackle by Lens leads to the goal. 7:38 nice bit of skill.
He had a great chance in the second half but put it wide instead of passing to Van Persie.
