Its incredible that he should have any doubt in his mind.!!!!! The HDM vote reflects the reality that Jakupovic should be an automatic choice based on his performances and Marshalls this season. I doubt that there are many posters on here, other than PLT whose reasons for preferring Marshall have been so ridiculous that they dont ever bear comment, who would choose Marshall to start on Saturday. Lets hope Phelan gives his head a shake and puts out the same formation against Watford, with Clucas back in the lineup.
http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/eldi...-their-views/story-29844703-detail/story.html "Despite impressive performances in the opening fixtures of the Premier League campaign and indeed the playoffs last season, Eldin Jakupovic was dropped to make way for new arrival David Marshall. It is harsh to pin the blame on the Scottish international, but Marshall's introduction into the first team has coincided with a downward spiral in performances and results, which has seen the Tigers concede 15 goals in four games, including five at Liverpool and six at Bournemouth. Jakupovic returned to the lineup for last night's 2-1 EFL Cup win at Bristol City and helped secure City's first win in five games by pulling off a number of eye-catching saves. And City fans have been quick to take to Twitter and suggest that he should be reinstated as Mike Phelan's number one".
A similar percentage wanted Tymon to start against stoke though. Promising he's at least acknowledging it's a decision he has to make.
You didn't watch the Stoke game then? This is what I mean. Any save Jak makes is automatically a wonder save. Whereas with Marshall nobody says anything.
It's not that they're 'wonder saves' (the Schmeichal one last week was an example of a wonder save), it's just that Jakupovic seems to make saves that Marshall would let in. As previously said, against Bournemouth Marshall barely moved for half the goals, Jak would've at least gone for it.
If it's that black and white, makes you wonder why only the hysterical fans see it, while the level-headed coaches and managers don't. I'm sure they're just wrong though. Or of course, MP picks DM because of the price tag. And Bruce used to pick AM (who was also nowhere near as good as the wonderful Jakupovic) because erm...
He picked McGregor because he was, at the time, the better goalkeeper. IIRC Bruce dropped Amos in favour of Jakupovic when Amos turned ****, so it wasn't about playing him on rep. Jak has been the better goalkeeper over the games played, ergo he should be in the first team, regardless of price tags or opposition played.
Yes. I think we all know which way it's going to go. And many will already be drafting their furious posts.
I went back about 20 pages thinking there might have been another thread on this. I am of the belief that Marshall is in the team because Phelan has been told he's in the team. Compare the two keepers yesterday, one agile the other a lump. Compare the two main keepers we have one agile and the other a lump. At a time when we need a leader of the pitch because **** knows we dont have one, just someone who shows that they're up for it would be great for any City supporter to see.
Any reports on Greegsy? did he play on Friday night? Whether you think its harsh on Jak to be second choice, we have 4 fit GK's soon. Jak is too good for third choice FFS
Phelan doesn't want to drop Marshall to play the Jak, as it would look as if he had failed in the transfer market. Loss of face is so important here.
