I'm fully aware he's no world beater, however the other option is dummet and he truly is the worst defender.

To be fair, he played the majority of League games in his first two seasons at Liverpool, so a bit unfair to say he was found out.
Injured for most of the time during the past two.

Older, slower and unfortunately injury prone, if the last two years are anything to go by - that's why I wouldn't have him back.

Liverpool tend to have an adverse effect on certain players. Enrique wasn't **** and you ****ing know it deep down.

All this hostility towards Jose is obviously a front, to hide the massive disappointment you felt when he left the club.
It didn't make him a bad man, just someone that had a bit more ambition than he was being offered here.
Hopefully in time, you will forgive....

I really like Jose Enrique as a player, but to commit career-suicide by going to Liverpool has made me believe that you often reap what you sow.

He's too old to buy now and having a fourth option at left-back would be a waste of money as well as hindering the development of two young defenders already signed to the club.

Give Dummet, Haidara and even Colback a go.

Jose was the last left back I can remember here who could actually tackle and stop a cross from coming in rather than just uselessly standing in the general vicinity doing nothing. One reason our centre backs struggle so much is that our full backs allow so many easy balls into the box. I can't blame the lad from taking the move to Liverpool at that time. He showed ambition to try to better himself both football wise and financially whilst we were going nowhere and he gave his all whilst here. However looking at his age and injury record he would be a risky signing, probably not a particularly expensive risk though especially short term. I would take him.

I can't quite get it, how having ambition and signing for Liverpool, being First Choice Left Back for Two Seasons, before losing his place through injury can be viewed as Career Suicide.

Seems a bit odd to me...

Do you think two seasons is what he had in mind?

Check the stats if you like. I'm pretty sure he was in and out of the team. Dalglish signed him I seem to recall but KD didn't last much longer.

Brendan Rodgers didn't like Enrique or Carroll and they (and their respective careers) have suffered since.

"Career suicide" was in reference to his current situation. He should be nailed-on as a regular in a PL team now, but Rodgers prefers a youngster a LB just now and I seem to recall Enrique training with the Liverpool U-21's.

    Good career move then?

He has gone backwards in a huge way since leaving us. I'd rather stick with Haidara and that is really saying something!

As I eluded too earlier he was first choice full-back for his first two years, one of which was under Rodgers.
If Rodgers didn't like him, he still picked him the following season for the first Seven games, until, he was injured and out for the remainder of the season.
He was still out injured again for virtually all last season.

Only recently back to some sort of fitness, so of course he's struggled to get back into Rodgers plans, given that he's had other options for the best part of two years..

Absolutely, a good career move - of course he could have stuck it out here, and that would really have been a cracking career choice.

I still wouldn't want him back here, due to his injury problems.

Don't worry lads, it'll all be settled today with the signing of Guerreiro. Enrique can be simply cherished as a man who did a great job, fully committed, at a time when the club needed it. Haidara will be a mere blot on the history books.

Steve has identified the problem, Carr the solution and Mike now loves spending his money
