who was the better singer tho? Fury wins that as well imo! Rod you've had it mate
Billy was always canny.
Well said, Blunham. It just shows you - I can name off the top of my head, every heavyweight world champ from John L. Sullivan (1887) to probably Buster Douglas - and about three since then. And one of those three was Frank Bruno, who got exceptional publicity by being the first Brit to do it since Bob Fitzsimmons (1897-99). I was the sort of enthusiast that would set the alarm clock at 2 a.m. to listen to Paterson-Johanssen in 1959 right through to Foreman-Ali, etc. in the 'seventies ,,, and it just totally went. Today, I wouldn't look out of the window. I'd never even heard of Fury till last night!
Going to be a rematch by all accounts. It was a pretty awful fight mind. No entertainment at all. Won't watch the rematch.
I've always doubted that. He was shaken by a straight left from Bruno (first round, first fight) and went on the run for the rest of the round. If he'd caught a big one from say, Foreman or Liston, I suspect Tyson would have folded.
I duel screened it with match of the day. Best fighter won but it was ****. I'd rather watch Joe Bugner then watch those two in the ring again. Match of the day was awesome.
I admit to not following boxing that much, but it seems recently that it is following the wrestling format of people mouthing off but not actual substance ? Just read Wilder's comments Talking about his style, Wilder added: "I'm going to try to disfigure you so bad that your kinfolks won't recognise you at the end of the fight. I don't hate you, but I want to destroy you and your career." Really? Sounds like wrestling bullshit to me. doesn't entice me into watching it. They'll be fixing the matches and making it into pure showmanship soon.
