I heard Yeovil town fc. Released our former youth player Kyle copp!! He just signed for Merthyr town fc. This week. I thought kyle had potential for better
He was never given a chance. Just like all the youth players most will never kick a ball in anger. Yet most clubs will buy in dross from abroad than give a youngster a chance. Back in the seventies teams had to field majority home grown players. Its time a rule was introduced where every club has to field 3 players from the academy for each match. If they dont comply they will lose academy status that will shake things up.
Just gutting to see talented young players who you seen come through ranks. And a lot of them end in Welsh league. £15 a game. Bye then they messed there education up in schools. It ain't about if you good enough! Mostly about the academy set up you are in and if they willing to get that experience for you. And give you time to develop. False dreams a lot of premiership academy. Young Boys should get in lower league development. Them clubs actually want you to make it. As they got no transfer funds
There are literally thousands of kids in Academies who will never play football professionally let alone semi ,to get through the system and be a success is down to hard work , technical ability , whether your age group coach likes you and luck and lots of it .At least know with Academy 1 status there is now a structure in place to ensure some level of education is maintained and support staff to help when a player is released , far too many have been dumped and left to their own devices when all they may have known since the age of 8 is a structured and discipline they may not have had outside of football.
Kyle Copp is a lazy player who spends far too much time on twitter and it's a shame as he can be a tidy player. It dont look good when you are not wanted by a small club like Yeovil...
