Unfortunately we've just missed out on being seeded in the draw so it'll almost certainly be Premier League opposition, let's hope we're not embarrassed...
Only just seen we won, as was flying all night with no nett, and also that our Brazilian maestro (for today) scored both. Uplifting news. Now, lets hammer Chelsea next round.
http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-v-rochdale-player-ratings Osman Kakay: 8 Usually deployed at right-back, Kakay produced an excellent performance on the right wing on his senior debut for the club. Some of his defensive work was superb, while his trickery and pace caused Rochdale’s backline problems. A thoroughly impressive first appearance. Good to know I wasn't going completely nuts. He is a right-back after all, but can obviously play further forward.
If we are paying Sandro say £40k a week and no other club will pay that (perhaps Benfica got cold feet and used the medical as an excuse) he has little motivation to leave unless he actually wants to play football rather than collect his cash. So leaving him out is an 'incentive' to him to find another club and accept that he is no longer a big earner in footballing terms.
Sooperhoop - out of interest, how do you know this? I could not find any data on the interne - not that I doubt your information!
I'd like to see him given a chance. Looks like he's currently our third-choice right-back after Onuoha and Perch (neither of whom are naturals in the position) and an option as right wing. He could soon move up the pecking order.
The starting line up was 4-2-3-1 : ----------------Ingram------------ -Perch--Onuoha---Hall--Bidwell ------Borysiuk------Sandro-------- --Kakay---El Khayati----Shopido-- ------------Washington------------- But I have no idea what happened later on when we had both Polter and Washington on the pitch.
We ended up ---Ingram------------ -Perch--Onuoha---Hall--Bidwell -----Luongo------Sandro-------- ---Shopido-- Chery------Washington ------------BFG------------- Roller reknowned that Conor coming/running in from the left from just behind the striker was his natural position. He was not uncomfortable there at all
Don't worry! When I saw the team sheet I was more than confused by the presence of two right backs (Kakay and Perch). Plus, I was very pleasantly surprised to see Borysiuk... and shocked to see Sandro. I doubt if any one guessed that line up. But well done to JFH for an innovative and effective selection!
I am sure that some variant, as you discuss, with both Polter and Washington that can be very effective. Hopefully now with Borysiuk, Cousins, Luongo, etc we can find an efficient 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 formations to play them together. The issue may be that it will be at the cost of playing Chery out of position? Anyway, that is JFH's problem and he is paid handsomely to solve it. I am sure that by Christmas we will find our ideal first eleven - assuming we haven't lynched him (ie JFH) after the Wigan result
Actually, we could very easily play the above formation immediately. Plus we now have cover for most positions (except for BFG)
Sooper right now on the Sky website it says Round three sees Premier League clubs competing in Europe enter the competition and the draw is not seeded. Read more: http://www.wolves.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=458069#ixzz4IGJApgGj We are ball 21
