Wimbledon of old used to be the only bogey team I know. In recent years the lists are endless. No doubt we can add Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Southampton. Friends what is going on?
Bogey teams are just myths. The reality is periodically one team or other gets a player or combination of players that exploits something in your side. Maybe its an attitude or a defensive pattern.. or just a forward thats too good for your cb. But its always transitory. Look at how we go do everton time after time.. thats not a permenamt thing.. not if they drop the attitude. The reality is everton forget how to play anytime rhey see a red shirt and mobility is their achilles heel. Everton have had with respect slow assed cbs who are good in air fir a very long time and defensive midfielders in front so most of the time we dont cross it cos we are **** in air.. ergo we run about said cbs and cms. Everton will one day turn this around and stop trying to defend so much that they dorget to go after our weaknesses
Disagree deffo bogey teams. You are spurs bogey team, you always beat or draw with them. Same with Everton. Everton smashed the same fluid City team so its not necessarily just personnel.
I don't think so.. I just think at this moment in time the two teams largely cancel each other out. We need to be able to score against them but kane can score against us so its a 0-0 or a 1-1 and we both seem to take eachother as a good draw. Everyone's weaknesses are different Look at LFC v palace.. can you see LFC opening up like that v cheslea... The first gaosl was down to a gambling press in our own half where we were far too open. we were leading and had switched off after an injury break in play. We would never open up like that v a top 6 side and especially not cheslea. Thats who fat am could boast he had some grand plan when in fact it was us gambling when we didn't need to lovern especially. We don't do it v spurs or you so we don't lose simple. bogey teams are really just down to exploitable things or teams just acting stupid. there was a time where you could DEPEND on spurs not traveling north of watford under harry redknapp.. but thats gone.. sides in north east are no longer bogey teams there was a time that london sides were all newkie boegy teams... but thats not really a thing is it.. just that newkie are **** now. theres a long history of this stuff.
Like the crazy gangs (teams assembled with minimum outlay).They have little or no skills but are willing to play football as long as it is 11 vs 11.
Bogey in the sense for a period of time. It might not last forever but there are just certain teams that other teams will play bad against. Whether that's psychological or not i dont know. You haven't lost to spurs in the past 10 matches or 5 years. As teams of relative equal strength that's quite some record. likewise in the past 7 meetings when barcelona have been the best team for ages, we haven't lost to them yet. Is it a coincidence our players are better than theres, super luck, our players hitting form at the right time? or maybe just barcas new bogey side
