Looking on the bright side

...... only 4 teams have scored more goals than us.

Now, if we can just tighten up at the back........

 

Well it's true, we're scoring goals and that's arguably the most important thing. It's like the opposite of last season when we were solid at the back but boring as hell to watch and couldn't score for toffee. Just get the defence tightened up and we should be in for an entertaining and successful season.

 

The bright side is we earned good away point. No reason to look on the dark side at all.

 

Take away the clumsiest penalty of many a year and we could be writing different things.

 

Great draw there was 20 mins in the second half where it looked like we were going to win it.

 

Aye. We rode our luck too. Decent game, few stagnant spells aside.

 

Last 20 mins we sat too deep. Mainly because Fletcher couldn't hold the ball up front and it kept coming back. When this happens to me put someone who can just run with the ball.....bring on Watmore.....it was made for him to catch them on the break. Pleased with the point and seen a lot of positives.....Lens, M'Vila, Toivenon, Kaboul getting fitter.....optimism springs eternal....

 

I was pleased with the performance, Villa are at home, the onus is on them to come at us....But we stuck to the task well. As Nostalgic says, but for a needless penalty, we could have come away with better. I'm certainly not as pessimistic as I felt after the final whistle against Norwich.

 

We're on the up!

 

The only reason I posted this thread was because in spite of 2 goals and a good away point we fell back to last place, coz of West Brom's win against 9-man Stoke.

Trust an upside downer to say we're on the up when we go down a spot

You know me mate, I'm good for a laugh Being bottom after 4 games doesn't get me worried.. That performance in the 2nd half has installed belief in me and generally excited about big Ola, M'Villa and lens!

Well someone said yesterday that we'd won all our second halves. Not quite true.

We've won 4 out 6. Leicester, Swansea, Exeter and Villa.

That says quite a bit about the half-time break and their attitude in the second half.

Reasons to be cheerful.

 

Not sure if you or anyone else on here has noticed, the last couple of seasons when we score we seem to let the other team get one back on us almost instantly.. I brought it up last season mate.. Would love to know the stats.. It's like the players think that'll do got 1 let's relax now Mentally weak squad at times

 

Oh I've notice that too mate.

The amount of times I've punched the air in the car and 2 minutes later screamed "you ****ers" at the radio!
