This is really really good to see. Won't be holding my breath but rightly so as his health is of the utmost importance.
Goes without saying we wish him all the best as a person and also as a HCFC player. Hopefully he can edge his way back to somewhere near where he was and play a key role in getting us up where we belong. Good luck Ryan.
Good lad. Hope he gets well enough to do the job he loves. On a selfish note, what a player we'll have in the championship!!
Good luck to him, but trainings one thing, contactless running & kicking, but in a real game will he ever challenge for a header again? Will he be dubious about going in for a tackle if there's a chance it could seriously damage his health? If he does come back fully, he'll be a very brace player. I wonder if he'll use a skull cap like Cech? Would it protect him with being an outfield player?
Good to see him back training, as Brucebones says the crux will be when it comes to heading and competing in a game. But hopefully it is a good sign that he must be confident to be able to overcome this, or he wouldn't be getting back to training.
Good to see. I felt from the TV interview he did that he might never get back to any sort of training. Long way to go but this is a hopeful state of affairs.
of course he is gonna head the ball. if anything, his rivals for headers will be the ones that think twice about challenging for the ball with him.
of course he is gonna head the ball Can't take this as a given, he's likely to be very cautious about it. his rivals for headers will be the ones that think twice about challenging for the ball with him This is a fair point, might be something in it, at least for a short while.
Chances are that he will me managed by not having him in the penalty area for corners, as that is the likely area when he would have to head a ball under pressure from another player.
He will be played in the advanced midfield role at a guess for this reason. Is he any good at delivering corners/set pieces?
From what I remember that's exactly the position he wanted anyway, he was happier when playing that way briefly under Silva than before under Phelan.
