Watched it this morning, it was quite brutal. Respect to both of them, they must have been ****ed by the end.
I thought McGregor was going to lose it in the third or fourth, he looked spent. Fair play to Diaz he shouldn't have been standing after the beating he took in the early exchanges. He's got a head like granite.
It's just town on a Saturday night really, isn't it? Boxing, yeah I get that, but this stuff...? Not for me.
Totally agree. I've watched a few fights which fans have been 'blown away' by but I think it's boring as ****. Just it's a load of posturing and then rolling around on the floor having a cuddle.
I'm the other way. (Not like that) There were some really good fights this weekend but for anyone that got caught by the hype of UFC 200 and watched that would think that it is all a load of ****e. The Donald Cerrone fight was good and the McGregor Diaz fight was a real dogfight. The Mike Perry fight was also really good. I suppose for me it's all about seeing the big matchups that you don't get in boxing because of how fragmented it is whereas MMA UFC holds all the cards and therefore you get a huge fight every couple of months or so between the top fighters in the world. I get why people don't like it but the rate it's growing it's going to get more and more exposure. Anthony Johnson got $405,000 for a 13 second bout. McGregor got $3,000,000.
I was lukewarm at first, but I've really grown to enjoy it. I love the science of boxing, the precision, but this just feels a bit more brutal. Rightly or wrongly, I like that.
