There are reports coming out of Italy that Newcastle United are in the race to sign Hull City forward Abel Hernandez. The Uruguay international only signed for the Premier League side during the last summer transfer window, but could on his way out of the club after just one season..

TMW have reported that the former Palermo forward is attracting attention from Newcastle, despite having an indifferent season with Hull. The player got off to a good start with his new club, but he has been hampered by injury and loss of form. Newcastle are already planning for next season, and are looking at potential players to bring to the club in the next window. They have been linked with Marseille forward Andre Ayew in the past few weeks, and Hernandez is the latest to be targeted by the North East club.

Hernandez signed for Hull just before the transfer deadline last summer, but he’s only scored four goals in twenty Premier League games since he arrived in England. He showed last weekend what he can bring to the team by scoring his side’s second goal during the 3-2 defeat to Chelsea. Despite this Hernandez showed his qualities in Italy when playing for Palermo, and he would be a useful addition to the Newcastle squad. The forward also has a decent international record, and has scored eight times in seventeen appearances for Uruguay since he made his debut in 2010.

Keep, he's improving now, I think he'll prove to be a quality player in this English Premier League.

Who actually is responsible for player recruitment at Newcastle?.With them having an interim manager at the the moment it would make more to sense to wait until a permanent appointment is made.

Just realized I used sense and Newcastle in the same sentence, that must be a first.

If we stay up, keep him, he has what it takes to be a success in the Premier League.

I would make the decision to keep or sell him based off our last 8 games. With jelly injured it's his time to shine.

The only way we'd get a true price for any of our players is If we stay up! I'd be happy to recover our money for him and look elsewhere.

I tell you what, why don't we just keep signing strikers every off season, sell them in January, sign someone else, sell them at the end of the season and repeat, season after season, FFS!!!

TMV are reporting in Italy that Newcastle are interested in signing Hull City forward Abel Hernandez, a player who said last year he was dreaming of playing for Newcastle United – well yes – he also mentioned two other clubs – Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
