Exactly this. Clucas is the engine room in midfield. He'd be one of the first names on the team sheet for me.
Just how good is Marco Silva? We were relegation fodder before he arrived. Now we're leaving a player of Tom Huddlestones quality on the bench. I really hope nothing goes wrong now, because we could even finish in the top half next season if he wants to stay.
We could finish in the top half if he wants to stay? That's a bit optimistic! We are going to struggle whatever. We can't just get the best players, and we have one team coming up with a huge budget. Bit of a reality check needed. A good manager isn't enough to win success, and the transfer market will be crucial.
If you're thinking of Newcastle they are no different now, in budget, to what they always have been. A lot depends on how you measure success.
said in my watford team sheet before the game clucas and n'diaye work brilliantly together, i actually think it's a 100% better partnership than huddlestone tbh and **** all this talk of top half finish next season we have to ****ing stay up this season ffs it's still a ****ing battle because if we can't win away that means we HAVE to beat sunderland AND spurs swansea are still massive favourites to stay up for me.. they are a completely different side with llorente i think they'll pick up 7 more points and finish on 38 we will be relegated with 37 Welsh knobs lose to manure beat everton draw sunderland beat west brom = 38 Hull city afc lose southampton beat sunderland lose palace draw spurs = 37 even a draw at southampton or palace will relegate us on GD we need two wins or we are are down
Totally agree about Llorente. When he went out injured they went down on the table. Not very sure about Swansea getting 7 points from 12, having to play both Everton and United (even though both dealing with injurie plagues), plus two other decent opponents that outpointed them in the table and have better players on the field. Everton and United are immensely better than Swansea and both need to win. The most likely result are losses from both matches. In their last 6 matches they lost 4, drawn 1 and won another. 6 points out of 18. got 33% of the points in dispute. Conceeds almost 2 goals for each goal scored, with an average of 1,14 goals scored per match. 0,91 points per match of average for the season. When you make 7 points from 4 matches your points average is 1,75. Almost the double of their season average, against 2 very tough sides that need to win and 2 other decent/good sides with less motivation. It can happen, football ain't math, but I don't find it likely.
what do everton have to play for? they will lose to m an u but beat everton that's the thing, all this talk is just fiction anything can happen in football but i honestly believe we have to win two games to even hope of staying up but i honestly believe we need an away win i honestly think swansea will get at least 7 points but if they beat sunderland then thats 9 points if we lose to southampton i would really worry about us the first match back with llorente they win and he scores .. he's honestly an utterly under rated insane player.. the only reason they are below us is because of llorente being injured in our game.. in my honest opinion
he literally carries this swansea team, he has done all season, he got injured at our place, and since then they went on terrible form he comes back.. scores first goal and they win swansea will beat everton and west brom that is 37.. if they draw sunderland 38.. .. but if they beat sunderland that's 40 points we need two wins to match that and if we beat southampton sunderland and drew with spurs = 40 points but be relegated i just honestly can't see a point where we stay up.. i ****ing want to be wrong if swansea get 3 wins we are down even if we win 2 and draw 1... it is 100% going to the last game of the season this only son/mane/giroud/hazard/kane/costa/sanchez/lukaku/ibra/aguero/ali have a better goals per minute ratio as llorente this season and every single one of those is in a top 4 side apart from ibra, lukaku, sanchez, giroud and king who who are in 5,6 ,7 and 13th respectively and king has the same minutes per goal exactly as llorente
Most PL points in a season for a club to be relegated 42 - West Ham United (2002/03 - 38 matches) Fewest PL points in a season for a club avoiding relegation 34 - West Bromwich Albion (2004/05) Teams to go down in 18th place have finished the season with 35.9 points on average, or 0.9 points per game. Think they'll draw one and loose another against Everton, and MU and then they'll win one and loose another of the other 2 matches. That would be 4 points. In normal circumstances , even with Llorente and Sigur, Swansea would say thank you very much and sign for 4 points with such a stream of matches. We stand a nice chance of getting the same in our last 4 matches. If they make 4 points we just need a win. When I saw Llorente getting injured I thought: let's run as fast as we can can because when he comes back they will probably outpace us. If he didn't get injured we wouldn't probably stand a chance. I agree with you. But he might just have come too late. that's what we hope at least. I say we win our 2 next matches and it's game set and match
We could do with Man U beating them 3-0, and we keep a clean sheet against Soton, for either a win or draw.
The only reason Swansea beat Stoke was not Llorente, although he is a good player. It was Arnautovich blazing over the penalty that completely handed the game to Swansea. Lucky deflection 60 seconds later sealed it. And **** me Berahino is overrated.
They didn't win as soon as Llorente returned, he's been back for three games and they still lost two of them.
Everton are still in the fight for a top 4 spot at this stage. If United beat City then it's even more open.
